Motorola Devour has Flash support, makes Pixi look like an underachiever
Motorola's official spec sheet for the Devour reveals that there'll be a Flash Lite runtime on board -- presumably version 3.1, which offers support for a variety of video codecs and Flash 9 content -- and more importantly, it'll work in the browser. That's pretty cool -- it gives the Devour one small leg up on its Droid big brother and matches capabilities that HTC has rolled out in the past on the Hero, but what's more interesting is that the Devour allegedly uses the same next-gen low-cost smartphone processor from Qualcomm, the MSM7627, as the Pixi. Palm has elected not to roll out the Pre's upcoming Flash support to the Pixi on account of its lower-end specs, which begs the question: is Android's Flash Lite 3.1 player significantly more efficient than webOS' Flash 10.1 player, does the Devour have more horsepower packed in there than it's letting on, or does Palm just have higher performance standards for annoying ads than Moto does?[Thanks, StevenQ]

Go head Motorola! Now, can I have flash for my Droid and possibly Motoblur? I think it's a little unfair that a phone thats supposed to be a step down from the Droid has these features.
is it just me or is this phone not so appealing? Moto's gonna release a few dozen Android phones this year right? it seems like with one successful product, they are set on making less innovative and powerful products, instead of going forward..
Isn't flash lite 3.1 the same thing that's on the Wii Internet Channel?
If so, will it be just as (in)effective at running sites like YouTube?
Still nice to see functional flash on webpages though.
wait... the low in model has flash but the droid does not
*sigh*
I really don't like these boxy designs. Oh well...
I this could finally be the killer android phone we have been waiting for.
when will android 2.1 hit droid?! / will blur ever come to droid?
Wait, DLNA support? Correct me if i'm wrong, but does that mean I can stream media to it from my home network? DO. WANT.
Motorola makes really awesome looking phones, such as the razr and the devour (not that I've ever want the razr, but it's thickness was impressive at launch)... But the stats are almost always dissappointing.
The only information I've seen about the devour that makes me want it besides the picture itself, is the included 8 GB microSD, aGPS which can be used to locate your lost phone, and another app that can clear the data off if it's been stolen (I assume they learned this lesson from Paris Hilton's bejeweled Sidekick).
@perrinoia Oh, I forgot to ask, is that little black square a d-pad like the Samsung Omnia's?
so was the red/white motorola "nexus 2" only a mock up? coz the red with white looked hot.
Don't care that much about the comments (although turning them off was rather childish) but at least it's not iPadget anymore and that actually solved a whole boatload of problems.
hmmm looks a bit chunky and retro anyone agree?
Why is it that Motorola's smartphones are so sexy lately?
Pre will have flash 10.1 that will have acces to the GPU thus better performance. Flash lite is a joke but I guess it's better than nothing...
