Xperia X10 lands on Vodafone UK in April
We don't have pricing, we don't have specific dates, we just thought we'd let you know that Sony Ericsson's already outdated Android phone is arriving in the UK in April. This agrees with the release schedules for Japan and Germany, making the fourth month of the year seem like a certainty for the global launch of what is still a hotly anticipated device. Just why the X10 engenders such fervor, we're not really sure, but it still marks Sony Ericsson's most aggressive plunge into the smartphone shark pool yet. We'll just have to wait another couple of months to find out how well that Donut-based OS swims.

with 2.0 android on the way of SE android phones series
The phone looks gorgeous, but they need to release 2.1 asap, but like Vlad has said, the phone is already outdated.
It's coming to Orange aswell at end of march/early April
Give us the nexus one already, I haven't seen a video of the Xperia X10 where it doesn't look bloated by the front end software.
How is it already outdated?
It's got an 8.1mpx camera, a far-better music player interface...matter of fact, the entire UI Rachael or whatever it's called, looked very slick! Much slicker than how a stock Android looks. And it might even come on AT&T (hopefully! i'm sick of my iPhone 3g)
Pray tell, how is it outdated?
i'm a SE fanboy, but the latest times it0s been the same thing, delays, delays and more delays, is sad to see how SE is going deeper and deeper. thinking moving to nexus but still hope for X10.
on another note the x2 was going to be released by play.com sim free on the 29/01/2010 but they have now changed it to 17/02/2010 so its been delayed in the uk again. why does SE not realize that these delays are killing them.
@Ganondolf
I thought it had been canned entirely in the UK because vodafone dropped it thereby making it financially unviable?
@Malcolm
i think its canned with a phone provider but it will get a release sim free, but from the looks of things it will be very hard to find.
Outdated? Really?
I'll take anything that has a better music/media player than the current crap on my Sprint HTC Hero. Don't get me wrong, I love my Hero, but the music player is horrible.
I have my doubts about the X10 arriving at any U.S. carrier, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. "Outdated" or not.
It's outdated because it's running Android 1.6 even though Android 2.1 has been out for months once it arrives.
And at this rate updates will be scarce and far between. Otherwise they would have released it with 2.1 at launch date.
It is most likely the "Rachael UI" that is so incompatible with versions of android other than 1.6. I've been waiting for this phone for two years. But I feel let down when it's announced with an outdated version of android and dim prospects of it being updated on a regular basis. Do I really have to root it and loose my warranty to get 2.x?
Worst strategic mistake ever by SE, and especially now when they really need this to work. And the delays aren't really helping. This just makes me sad. This should have been released before Xmas 2009, then it would've been acceptable.
ah crap X10 on vodafone
please atleast have better support than HTC MAGIC.
Why do SE keep giving it to Vodafone?
Vodafone pulled the X1 from their lineup early.
Vodafone pulled the X2 from lineup completely to make way for iPhone
Vodafone pulled the HD2 from their lineup after like 2 months.
WHY VODAFONE!?
This phone is badass. http://www.x10android.com
