pretty cool stuff indeed :)
like anyone is gonna press the trackball that much... edit > cut > delete
This makes me love Google so much.
I can tell from personal experience that iPhone DOES NOT do this kind of testing. I mean their screen is made of glass and it's the one piece they don't warranty. With a glass screen you could not to that kind of bend or impact test.
Bravo HTC, this is a good bit of Marketing. Your phones are head and shoulders better that the iPhone and I hope you do very well with the nexus one. Now if only Palm would let you make a WebOS phone for them.. that would be... PERFECTION!
I find it comical how people think that every phone - hell, pretty much any mass-market consumer electronics product - doesn't go through similar testing.
Very interesting to see in action none the less, but it's not like this is in any way unique.
@Hazdaz I bet you the slave labor camps that the iPhone is built in don't look anything like that factory.
@stabbytheicepic
I know it's "fashionable" to be busting on Apple for some reason, but if you think the iPhone is made in any vastly different manner (or tested any less) then you are sorely mistaken. All these type of devices are made in factories in Taiwan or mainland China and are run in a similar manner.
Where were these videos back in December? Google needed to generate some buzz prior to its release, not after.
@Maxximtl
Why do people continue to think google cares about the sales numbers on the nexus one?
for some reason, i feel more attached to my nexus one after watching these videos
I love these video's, I do really want a Nexus One, but what holds me back right now is the method of purchase, and all the stealth taxes associated with getting one to the UK. In total, it would cost be about $850 to get :(
Hopefully by Spring time there will be an easier way of getting my hands on one of these.
maan i wanna go work there just for that i can destroy phones and gettin paid for it lol.
I wish Palm had done some "testing" on the Pre before I bought it. I love webOS but the hardware is very disappointing.
Great videos...love the production.
Wow, the testing one was really well produced. Lovely filming, lovely editing. Well done Google. :D
Lost me at "Magical"
@walsho EDIT: Very cool manufacturing video, very well produced. But, I think Engadget should start adding a "Magical" tag so I can opt out of any post that uses that term!
They're not showing you how much it can take. It says Bend Test: Simulates maximum bend stress phone can withstand; though it just goes to a point. I watched to see some mindless destruction!
Yup, definitely replacing my G1 with the nexus lol.
