webOS 1.4 hitting Sprint's Pre and Pixi on February 15th?
Good news for nonplussed (in more ways that one) Pre and Pixi owners: come the day after Valentine's, it looks like you'll be able to capture your loved ones in moving pictures format! This comes from an alleged Sprint technician who reportedly took the above screencap promising a firmware update with all the features we've heard debuting as webOS 1.4, except for Flash support on the Pre. Note our use of "alleged" and "reportedly," though -- we can't independently confirm this image, so take it with a grain of salt. Still, February was the previously-mentioned release date, and when better to release than just after the halfway mark of the month?

Video recording would have been a lot better if it were available on Valentines day!
;-)
@fade2blac
shhh it's my birthday, good enough.
Glad to see Palm is still going strong on the updates...
@SeanR
webOS 1.4 will make it the 10th major update in eight months. Those guys at Palm always seem to find exciting new features to release to enhance the Palm Pre & Palm Pixi phones. If they can keep this up, it would be awesome for all current Palm smartphone users.
And I'm here, still holding my iPhone, and hoping that one day Apple would spread its mercy on me, and give me some basic features like editing then attaching a DOC to my email. :(
FML.
@Saad
Jailbreak. Cydia is the only thing really keeping me from changing to a nexus.
@LUFC May get one myself since my wife accidentally put my 3GS threw the washer. Hoping it will dry out and still work. Was able to get it to load the Apple logo but hasn't gotten any further. It still has some moister inside. I have put a Treo or two through the washer on accident before and they always worked when dried out so I am hoping. If not, then maybe the Nexus One but I do want a GSM Pre, just not with a qwertz keyboard. Or I want a WinMo 7 device but we shall see. Pre is very interesting to me.

Emptyquoting this.
@Brian
Try putting it in a tub of rice. I hear that helps to suck out the moisture.
Yay just a couple more days until I can get my Video capture on.... I wonder what the enhancements are for messaging..
Nonplussed means perplexed, not unimpressed.
No SIM Toolkit, again... duh!
I'm stoked! I purposely have no Homebrew on my phone right now for the sake of a smoother update... Maybe that's even gotten better.... I'm praying that Palm announces a new device at MWC and not a damn tablet!
@majorhunadadun
same here I've been waiting and can't wait for this one
@majorhunadadun Pre homebrew is insanely advanced now. Using Preware to load on all patches and non-store apps should result in a completely safe update, which Preware fixing anything the update breaks when you run it again the next time. That being said, if you want to get into "homebrew" but want to be ultra safe, waiting to the 14th isn't going to kill you. It might also be a good idea because Preware's new OTA update fixing stuff has never been tested on a large scale(as in, never with an actual recent update).
@majorhunadadun I have never had an issue with Homebrew and updates.
However system PATCHES are another story... But that is stull not really a big issue. You run an app from Preware that automatically removes ALL patches from the system. You then reboot. Then you do the update. Then you run Preware and re-install the system patches.
It is not that hard, and many of the system patches are really usefull.
@(Unverified) Right on man! Yeah I had Homebrew since the beginning and wanted to save doin' a doctor (remember 1.3.1??) I'll for sure be hittin' the brew after this update! Alotta goodies comin'...
can't wait. I love having all these updates every month OTA. Thanks Palm.
im stoked for vid recording, but still waiting on Adobe for flash...hurry it up Adobe :(
The earlier reports of Flash support said it would be available through an App Catalog download once the 1.4 update was pushed, possibly explaining why it's not listed in the graphic.
yay!
misleading article. Flash was never said to be part of the WebOS 1.4 update. Palm said it would be released soon as a Beta in the app catalog. Adobe controls when it's released,not Palm.
Nice i will just wait a couple days to update to not mess up my tether app. Looking forward for video recording and flash.
whether or not flash is embedded or some form of app, I WANT IT ON MY PIXI!
and i want more cross-device compatibility... pre apps running on pixi and vice-versa. 25,600 pixels is like saying "you can't have this cuz you're younger than your brother"... ok, bad metaphor... you know what i mean, right?
ahem where is it!
