Apple II Digital Music Synthesizer available now for 8-bit die-hards
The last time we had occasion to feature 8 Bit Weapon in this space, our man Seth had hacked his Nintendo Power Pad into a music controller. Now the team is back with something a little less strenuous -- but no less musical -- for all of you budding chiptune artists out there. The Digital Music Synthesizer for Apple II is a wavetable synthesizer designed specifically for live performance. Not only does this bad boy come with ten voices (including bass, trumpet, square wave, sawtooth wave, and sine wave), but sequences can be recorded for a later time. But wait, there's more -- there is no monitor required. If you've ever had to lug an Apple II monitor to a dank performance space on a weeknight (and who hasn't?), you understand what a sweet setup this is. Supports your Apple IIe, IIc, IIc+, or IIgs computer with 80-column capability and at least one 5.25" floppy disk drive. Get yours now for $19.95 -- but not before checking out the demo after the break.

Gosh Engadget! You are always talking about the Apple II!!! :p
In other news. Video didn't work for me but my company network has been crappy all day. I will check this out when I get home.
@Pookiewood
just use the non apple engadget then :p
still appears there
@Pookiewood I see an audioplayer that is about 2 x 5 px in size. Still works, but man is it tiny.
its a bad boy!
HOLY COW! Apple IIe, IIc, IIc+, and IIgs are all the rage right now—
THESE GUYS ARE GOING TO MAKE MILLIONS !!!!!!!!!!!
@ Pookiewood
So what if engadget is always talking about the Apple II, that's we kids are into these days GRANDPOP!
@yrag Bleh! Apple II can't even multi-task so take that!
@Pookiewood Contiki on the 8-bits, GNO/ME on the GS if you want to do it right, The Manager if you want to multitask GS/OS apps (it doesn't do it well, but it does do it.) ;)
Holy crap that player is freaking tiny lol. Sounds interesting though. (I'm on Firefox btw).
@ryankage LMAO, I didn't even see it until you said that.
@engadgetcomexcludeengadget at least I'm not the only one that sees it tiny! lol
@ryankage Didn't notice it till you said that, I just went on the page and played the demo in foobar2000 (H)
Cool. That's gonna be my new ringtone.
@DoctarPeppar
It was.... 35 years ago!
Link to the apple II music software is http://www.8bitweapon.com/store.htm Thanx!
@8bitweapon Are the drums being played by the Apple II, as well?
Damn the Apple IIe brings me back to elementary school!
Didn't they have a SID based one?
Where is the V key of the poor old apple on the photo?
I'd be happy to get 19.95 for my apple IIe
Apple II "clones" are not eligible to run this hardware.
Tell me where to get it. Cause I remember playing some classic games on that Apple II in elementary school.
Has anyone else noticed that there's a matte black old school GameBoy sitting on that thing? I thought it only came in grimy gray. That thing suddenly looks a million times cooler! If I had had that I would have been the coolest kid on the block!
"Shall we play a game?"
