We're not going to lie, it was a major let down when we found out that this glowing V-shaped mouse with faux Microsoft branding is nothing more than a splendiferous concept, but we're holding back the tears as best we can. The super futuristic-looking eVouse doubles as both a regular mouse and a pen sensor (in theory, anyway) or as its designer
Marcial Ahsayane says, "it's a mix between a classic mouse and a tablet PC." We assume that means you can -- you know -- write digitally with it, but it will also work as an air mouse with touch sensitive buttons. Maybe you can discern a little more from the images below where it seems to morph into a boomerang of sorts, but in the meanwhile we'll be in the corner wishing this thing had a ship date attached to it. You hearing this, Microsoft?
Hmm I don't know... This doesn't seem ergonomic... Yet, it's gorgeous!
@kLid
so like the magic mouse?
@Alexicov
By the way, has anyone had a chance to use the magic mouse? Hard to get a hold of in Australia...
@(Unverified) They have global shortage, you have to sign up in a preorder list to get one here (in EU).
Same with iPhone 3GS - one of the operators is reporting "hundreds of people" signed up for one.
@kLid
Don't care 'bou ergonomics, make from carbon fibre and I'll be all over it like a royals rumour in the tabloids.
@kLid I was just wondering if your on crack? is it just me or is this thing beyong UGLY! XD
@Toke923
i aint on no crack boy, if i are i wouldnt be ridin this unicorn lol
and @convo about magic mouse:
yeah havent seen'em at any future shop or best buy here... >_>
Microsoft has a very unsung hardware department, and it's always great to see these concepts.
Come on... Which girl wouldn't accept this instead of flowers?
@(Unverified) Maybe if it vibrated.
I think I'll stick with Logitech though, but I'll bookmark this for my vulcan friends.
@(Unverified) I think girls prefer the G-point instead:

interesting and very sexy. I just dont see this going to production. no scroll wheel? no back button?
@JoeVettra
cameltoe.
V for vend-- valentine's day!
engadget, it would be great if we could add strikethroughs to comments, that one could have killed.
Stop making gadget and tech in these glossy finishes, i hate these fingerprint magnets.
Darn... This one has sex written all over the V-shape. Microsoft would be dumb not to market this with an additional wheel. Man it would look good attached to a necklace on a low plunging neckline..... drool...
Goes well with a Ouija board mouse pad.
soo, it's like a swiftpoint mouse.. but just a render?
Good luck recovering from hand cramp.
@cdf74dc9
I'm sure the affect on your hand would be the same as it is now, if not better seeing as you could almost fully rest your wrist and palm on a surface at an unarched angle
@Gi
and drag your lower palm along the mouse pad? No thanks.
@cdf74dc9
haha who literally drags their whole hand along with the mouse at all times, usually just fingers
@Gi
People who use good mice. Not resting your hand on the mouse (and therefore using your arm to move the mouse) would end up being more ergonomic in the long run because you're not causing an RSI with your wrist.
What a bunch of shit. This thing will destroy my hand after five minutes of any game.
@JPeak Why the hell would you use it for games?
Dead sexy but dumb.
Rather like a supermodel.
Having said that I want one
Who would buy this ? Besides a guy with freakishly big hands.
if i threw it would it come back?
Am I the only one who's really, really excited about this?? If this works out it perfectly by MS. You're looking at a change over from Wacom grips for Cintiq. As a graphic designer's perspective I rather fork $50-100 for this mouse than pouring $2000 for Cintiq.
Great design, but not sure about ergonomic.

I've had a couple Microsoft hardware peripherals that absolutely rocked. Then they dissapeared after a year on the market.
I would gladly pay over $100 for a new Microsoft Trackball Explorer. Mine is finally on its last legs and I'd rather not hunt through eBay for one. Quality optical trackballs for the are almost impossible to find these days. At least, a trackball that doesn't look like it's from the 1980s (set into a block, has all of 2 buttons) or just has terrible build quality.
The other Microsoft device that I really liked (and still use via a set of hacked drivers since it's only got XP drivers) was the Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander, which is basically a giant half-joystick half-mouse device (picture a large mouse that glides and rotates on a stationary pad that it's attatched to) that allows you to handle camera controls and/or WASD keyboard movement with your left hand while providing access to a huge number of hot-keys and programmable macro buttons. It's a digital device; it emulates the keyboard, so as long as you're not expecting an analog joystick response, it's a great device, also discontinued.
I have pretty good faith in Microsoft hardware peripherals; probably because I tend to like their unusual devices that don't sell well.
We need more innovation in mice. Magic Mouse needs competition. It's crippled by default, but with BetterTouchTool you can assign whatever you want to over 30 gestures. You can even have a gesture turn the surface into a touchpad, which I think is very cool since you can then hold it in your hand and use your thumb to move the mouse without a flat surface.
It looks really cool.. Just have see how easy it is to actually use..
It's so sexy im... a sucker fore beautiful gadgets
Well that's something new. Looks flashy but really worried about how it works and how it feels in my own hands...
It looks like a Stealth Bomber.
Yeah this is just not serious...
Besides, with its shape and size there is no benefit (precision) compared to finger touch
