@sky2earth You can take an ipod usb charging cable and push it into a grapefruit and the ipod will begin to charge for a very short period of time.

Good question, the energy actually comes from the metal parts. The orange juice is just an electrolyte.

there will be no polarity cause all the pins are the same metal
the charge comes off the acid burning from the metal pulling off electrons
shoving a USB connector into a grapefruit will do nothing but putting sticky grapefruit residue lodged into the connector
