Is this the face of the iPhone 4G?
There's very little to go on at this point, just a series of photos posted to a forum by a device repair company, but if their suspicions are correct, this could be the front panel of the presumably upcoming "iPhone 4G." iResQ claims to have obtained the sample part from a "reputable source" that has provided genuine parts to it in the past, parts which iResQ uses for repairing products -- even if those products don't exist yet. Interestingly, the LCD is factory glued to the digitizer on this 4G wannabe (like on the original iPhone), as opposed to them being separate elements on the 3G and 3GS, meaning higher replacement costs. But most notable about this face part is the fact that it's roughly 1/4-inch taller than previous generations. Your guess is as good as ours as to why it's taller, since the screens themselves seems very similarly sized. We're also incredibly curious as to whether this here face would line up with that supposed 4G midboard we saw a little while ago. So, elaborate scam by iResQ to get its name up in lights? Prank played by a fun-loving parts supplier? Earth shattering iPhone form factor change unearthed? And just what is that "reflective surface" supposed to be for? Beats us. The flip side of the screen can be seen after the break.

I'm hoping this is not the new "HD iPhone". I would like to see a larger screen with higher res.
Imagine a phone that is almost all screen with the same res as the iPad!
Then, apps would only need to be made for 2 different res.
True, but misspelling "failure" for the millionth unfunny time = failURE
PLEASE no more rumors!!!!! We were almost completely wrong about the iPad and all the false hype ruined the release....
apple please have a qwerty & a front camera & a 1ghz processor & a 4inch screen. then i would call apple the sexiest company ever!
Give me a freaking break. Are they seriously going to release the same f'n design again? That button is in the most unergonomic place ever. 4 generations of the same damn design. Apple is the only company that could ever get away with that crap.
anybody know if Apple renewed their contract with AT&T yet, or are they going to a second carrier?
stay tune for the rumors of its..."back cover"! fap fap fap
oh no getting excited now!! think ipad, ipad, ipad...bleh I r sober now. lol
Interestingly, iResQ is located a stone's throw from Garmin's HQ. Coincidence?
looks like a front panel of a 'keepin it real fake' version of iphone. lol
When is everyone going to realize that the iPhone is NOT about the hardware, its about using the UI. and by Hardware I DO NOT mean specs, but in terms of form factor. The iPhone is a mobile device where everything happens on the screen. It matters not what happens with the form factor. It works fine as is. They aren't gonna make an iPhone slider, or a flip iPhone or anything like that. So stop thinking they will. the iPhone will be the same form factor forever. Finishes and textures and colors may vary, maybe different sizes over time, but I really doubt it would be anything more than a rectangular brick with a big screen on the front. The only thing that will drastically change will be the UI. That's what they do, they take something complicated like the computer or phone, and they make it SIMPLE.
It would be very interesting to see the iPhone with an aluminium back casing similar to the MBPs. All they would have to do is make the aluminium dent-resistant similar to what you see in cooking pots. Think aesthetically that would be genius.
Looks to me like the '4G' iPhone is not only longer but thinner?
