New Nexus One ROM leaks, fixes more radio issues?
Remember that hand-waving trick that got a Nexus One to give up the 3G ghost way, way too easily? Well, we don't want to pop the champagne just yet, but there's a new non-over-the-air firmware update floating around that includes yet another radio bump among its sundry features, suggesting HTC isn't quite done yet tuning this thing to get proper HSPA without freaking out from time to time. Whatever this update is, it may never see the official light of day in its current form -- it includes Google Maps 3.4, for one thing, while Google's already gone ahead and upped the ante to 4.0 for Buzz support -- but at least it seems engineers aren't done trying to make this thing work properly.[Thanks, b3ast]

I tested this out in the UK with a usually strong 3G signal and I got the same results. Anyway, there can't be a sware fix, but maybe a work around.
Shame really, as this is the only issue I have with the phone at the minute
OK it fixed my flipping problems :D but it halved my network speed :'( i went from getting an average of 980 kbps to 500ish kbps :(
This will not ever be fixed. The software fixes are just tweaking how bad it will let 3g reception get before it switches to EDGE.
There's an antenna issue here at the core. End of story. You can't fix hardware reception issues with a firmware update. I get decent 3G coverage with my Nexus One, but I live literally right next to a tower. When I'm on the freeway it just straight up does not work.
Let's hope the next phone Google releases gets a little more cook time in the hardware phase.
Still not a fix...more of a cover up. It goes down to two bars then goes onto Edge. Before it would go all the way down and then switch to 3G.
