We've already had a
pretty clear indication that Nintendo's
inevitable DS successor would have at least some form of motion control, and an unspecified third-party studio has now offered some additional confirmation of that, and some downright glowing impressions of the device itself. According to
CVG, an "insider" that's currently using a DS2 development kit says that the DS2 is "genuinely the best thing I think I've ever worked with," and that it has "a 'tilt' function that's not dissimilar to iPhone, but does a lot more." The source further added that The Pokemon Company is getting "special attention" with it (rest easy, everybody), and that Nintendo likely won't be showing off any hardware at
GDC next month. Yeah, that sound you just heard was the rumor mill being cranked up a notch.
Nintendo used "Game Boy" for three generations of handhelds.
Pokemon here I come
The DS. The DSlite. The DSi. NOW THE DS2. No wait, we haven't quite milked all the cash from this cow. NOW THE DSS. The S stands for speed. Your DS games load 2.1x as fast. The Opera web browser still runs slow as molasses though.
The DS Lite was a revision, much like the Game Boy Pocket or Game Boy Advance SP. The DSi is a spinoff, kinda like the PSX was to the PS2. The "DS2" will be a true successor. The next generation of Nintendo handhelds.
I never get tired of that picture!
Needs moar cowbell.
Oh Man it is coming! Just not soon enough. I was really hoping we would see it at GDC...maybe e3 and released by Xmas? I REALLY cant wait to see the specs on this thing. Until i see some decent hardware ill be worried that Nintendo will underpower their handheld again... Which cripples what devs can do and as a result keeps many games off their handhelds.
I smell Pokémon Dash with tilt. Oh the spin-off horror.
a ds with sixaxis?

Does Nintendo BS stand for Nintendo Bull Shit?
