@513 flash the desire rom has flash 10.1 (the latest flash) but a mobile version of it, so it IS 10.1, but a 'lite' version, hence it also being called flash lite 4
Damn, I need that.
How come even with a much faster processor and more RAM HTC Sense is still jerky when scrolling through apps? Whilst this is much smoother than the Hero it's still laggy!
I get the feeling that with all the power in the world Sense would still lag!
And yes, I know this is a ported ROM and all that, however, even HTC's own demos are jerky, optimise your software for godsake!
The Heroes I've played with weren't that laggy at all, just keep in mind that running those widgets will slow it down.
@24hourpartypal
I had a Hero for 3 months, trust me, it's laggy! It may not seem that bad when playing with one occasionally, but trust me, using one everyday it just never kept up with me, I got so frustrated with it I sold it.
@martynmcfarquhar It's an alpha build dude.. Not even beta.
Have to agree with some of you guys. I like stock 2.1 better than Sense UI and the small thumbnails for additional screens in stock 2.1 are better than the Sense UI thumbnails imo. Sense widgets are nice though but beautiful widgets, twidroid widget and pure grid calendar widget have me covered. I think I'll stay on the reservation with a stock Nexus 1 until I find a real reason to root.
will there ever be android that would not stutter, snapdragon lagging is painful to watch
@flipflop
Not with that java layer doing the work.
Eat your heart out iPhone.
....now if only I didn't have an iPhone....
Love @ MoDaCo/XDA.
You guys are awesome!
@Midnitte I know, I wish my iphone's scrolling jittered all over the place like that and played Flash games at 5fps and in a new window rather than inline so they might as well be standalone apps.
Bring on HTML 5 and tell Adobe to gtfo of the way until they can write some efficient code.
PS Bloons on my iphone is pretty good as is youtube and what else do you need Flash for again?
@TinWard
well it is a rom not optimized for the phone, that should kind of be expected.
Just because flash isn't the direction the web shoulbt take, doesn't mean it's a direction it won't take. Without support for flash, apple is just making tons of content unavailable.
That said, I can't wait till html5 and assiocated technologies become mature and widespread. Now if only google would opensource on2's codec...
@TinWard
Hulu ... and the other 90% of the internet that uses Flash for videos.
I want flying cars ... maybe we can enjoy a ride in one when HTML 5 finally replaces Flash as the go-to technology for videos.
Disappointed in the fps of Bloons...i was holding out for at least 30fps!
This is the crappy flash everyone want on there phone. It looks horrible and doesn't seem to respond very well to flash games. mobile flash=FAIL!!!
@Mtmrob
Steve Jobs just typed that in a keyboard, hit enter, and all of the Apple Cyborgs, er, fanboys, said it in unison...
@Mtmrob
*Their
And this isn't the version "everyone" wants. The version "everyone" wants is 10.1. Ya know. The one that has hardware acceleration and so doesn't lag like this does.
Fact check before you bash.
@Joe McG
he typed it on a virtual ipad keyboard with mistakes that the ipad software did not pick up
I'm keeping Nexus One stock. Sense is a beautiful UI (loved it on my HTC Hero) but I prefer the virgin state of Android 2.1 on my N1.
Well done to Paul for his efforts tho. I love the Android community!
@ChazClout
I'm now inclined to agree. I'd wanted Sense for the longest. But after playing around in Vanilla Android, I MUCH prefer it to Sense.
Though, I don't have an N1.
@ChazClout I agree, I"m keeping my native 2.1 software on my Nexus One, I love it very much.
I'm using Kings passion2nexus Rom, works really, really well. I didn't think that sense was any better than the stock Android 2.1 Rom, but I'm glad to say I was wrong imo. Having flash is pretty cool too, don't know how it will effect battery life though, I've only had it for an hour.
thats not flash 10.1, thats flash lite 4
@nellyspageli wrong buddy, it IS flash 10.1, but its flash 10.1 lite which is also known as flash lite 4, open that video in youtube and look for a newer video of mine explaining it for you ;P
@Hotrod King is a scrub developer who takes others work and changes nothing but a name! Just look at this one thing for me...
PaulOBrien - Twitter
http://is.gd/8QMbE It shows the "differences" between @paulobrien and @kingklick92 builds. Now make your own decision.
We all know how jealous the apple fanboy's are, Steve won't let you guys have anything good, and never will unless the Apple logo is sold with it. I don't care what the Apple gestapo is doing, I don't care about the iPhone but you know the Apple fanboys care about Android this is because there so curious of Android and leaving Apple...
Tried it for a bit. Looks promising. Back to Enomther custom ROM.
Source link got Engadget'd
Called it! Go me!

i think i just shat a brick im doing a nandroid backup now :D
why does it sound like he is in the middle of the amazon?
The flash gameplay and navigation looks painful to watch. It's slow as hell, the logic behind actions is not designed for touch input, and the ratio of the game is arbitrary and does not conform to the device.
No thanks.
Still want the Desire. It's a lot easier and could be cheaper than the Nexus (due to shipping and stuff) for an Englishman like myself.
Oh yeah baby, wooot flash.......
wtf...5 fps? HOW COULD WE BE SUCH FOOLS?
Goddamn you apple....oh, WAIT :(
I feel sorry for whoever's phone number that is... should've been edited out
This is how Android should have looked out of the gate...
this makes me wanna get rid of my iPhone...
Ooooh the Droid needs this rom! Flash 10.1!!!!!!! :D
Love my damn 3GS, but I'm getting sick of the same UI for 3 years... Makes me regret I didn't get a Hero instead... High hopes for 4.0 :)
for any droid users jealous a dude at alldroid.com is working on a htc desire sense rom for the motorola droid link here http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=253&t=2787
all this shows is once again they have flash ready there just sitting on it till htc launches a phone with there product on it
