Windows Marketplace tweaked, installs to storage cards now possible (Android, take note)
Microsoft has released an updated version of its Marketplace for Mobile application for WinMo 6.0 and up recently that makes a few key changes -- nothing that's going to shake you to your very core the same way that Windows Phone 7 Series did last week, certainly, but there's some good stuff in here nonetheless. Most importantly, Marketplace will now allow for app installs straight to memory cards, a critical capability for devices that don't have gobs of storage built in (and something that Android tragically still lacks -- for the moment, anyhow). We've also got deep links to app product pages, user-selectable regional stores, Russian support, and the list goes on, so it seems like a must-have upgrade for anyone on a 6.x device. Just don't break the bank going on a wild, Red Bull-fueled app buying rampage now, alright?

I love the irony of Engadget making suggestions to Google for features, all the while they have yet to release an Engadget App for the Android.

Engadget when is our Android app comin'?
Maybe I'm just hating for no reason but I think Microsoft should let WinMo die for the Good of all of us.
Maybe it's the lasting taste of previous horrible WinMo phones I've used.
I just don't see the market to sell Apps on WinMo device being as big as the App Store or Android Marketplace.
At least not after waiting so long to brew up a decent WinMo after losing all the market share to the Android phone.
Oh ok, nice.
Still the market place is full of boring apps, mostly useless...
Come on Mr. 7. Come on!

Buying all 20 apps will break the bank?
Since apps-to-sd has been in WinMo for so long this almost counts as a bugfix, not a new feature.
WinMo has supported this since as least v5, along with A2DP and tether via both USB and BT.
I carry a WinMo and (rooted/Cyanogenmod) Android phone. I _like_ my Android better, but my WinMo phone is still more stable and mature than even Android 1.6.
I look forward to carrying a WinMo 7 and Android 2.1 handset in the near future to see how they have moved the game forward.
I definitely think the WinMo apps need to come down to the $0.99-$2.99 average...$8 for simple mobile app is just stupid, and higher is worse.
