The titanium iPhone is real, really real (video)
You came, you saw, some of you were not convinced. So what's a gadget blog to do when picture evidence isn't enough? Why, get those pictures moving, of course, right up to 30 frames a second. The stunning titanium iPhone 3GS from this morning is back, proving not only its existence in the corporeal realm, but also its much-disputed ability to place a call -- something that even the default plastic-backed units sometimes struggle with. Look, we're not in Austria and therefore can't lick it and tell you if it really tastes of titanium, but on the evidence we have the thing looks legit. Judge for yourself after the break.

Nice! How much would this cost?
But... Will it blend?
what about the ring on/vibe on switch? it appears to only be able to move in the opposite direction as the factory iphone...or...am i missing something..or...seeing...
ya, its pretty cool n stuff. the logo could be a bit bigger, tho.
ya, im sure, get a bigger logo, and im buyin one for my whole family.
This looks really cool. Would be nice to see the next-gen iPhone go this route...maybe a unibody iPhone?
But I have to agree with some about the logo being a bit too big. Would've looked nice the way it currently is but have it come out a bit,high relief style.
Hope this makes sense....hehe.
Who gives a crap about the titanium back plate? I wanna know more about that wierd sticky note pad holding calculator house phone thingy... It looks sweet....
@perrinoia
It's a Beocom 2500
Maybe he should just sell the titanium back and make a video tutorial about how to change the plastic back to the new titanium one...
Just saying.
So it's not fake? Gizmodo sucks ass.
The back is gross. Apple would never make the logo that big on a device that small.
where is the video?
-Posted from my IPhone
@d1mitrov
suddenly.. it's getting old..
Want it.
OFFS - watch the clumsy slight of hand and the dodgy edit in the video...
The cover may be real, but the phonecall is FAKE
THIS IS A Ti COVER THAT DOES NOT PASS A SIGNAL STRONG ENOUGH TO MAKE A CALL
See him palm the Ti covered one for a regular one to make the call
See him clumsily swap it back at the end of the call
See the video edit used to shorten the sequence when he swaps it back
Its a nice, clever, joke
@jjhplus9
Little tidbit of info... Only ONE-HALF of this device is titanium. It's likely not getting reception like the plastic ones but I bet it still works.
@hey buddy The capacitive grid in the display will also block the signal. Just to let you know.....
Remove the huge debossed Apple logo (or make it smaller) then I'll want one.
What a horrific big Apple logo. Suddenly the phone does not look sophisticated anymore.
@gizmodo
"Update: Great. Engadget just published a video, but is it really titanium?"
Giz, keep up the good ol' whining. LoL
I would add my rhoughts on the video however I can't seeing as I am using my iPhone to read this post and as we all know it doesn't support flash. Ohh the irony
Still, there's no such thing as "RF transparent" titanium, or any metal really. I'm surprised he's getting any signal.
wow.... i realy wish a case like that.
I would say that it is a sad day for iPhone case manufacturers; at least for some.
This kind of titanium doesn't exist, so it must be a different metal

@RyanGorup
I'm not calling it fake, but I question the mute switch as my 3GS is a rectangle that slides up and down whereas this one is cylindrical and moves laterally.
I love the concept but even this guy pulled it off I think we'll be in for another cheap plastic back covered iPhone.
but will it blend
sumin for the conspiracy theorists, the extra cases had no apple logo (btw did not listen to vid so not sure if explained)
this stuff is expensive, we had to replace a 12'' blade it cost $7k
I've repeatedly been drawn to watch this video, blinded by how fucking great this looked, I remembered the "Faraday Cage" effect. Knowing that it would be close to impossible to make a phone call in an aluminum casing, yet, a titanium casing.
Around 40 seconds in keep your eye on his right hand. Notice he is gripping something, using a technique similar to the "Tenkai Palm" in playing cards. Later on, 42 seconds in, dropping it. I suspect he switched the iPhone in order to make the phone call.
The next swap happens around 1 minute in (after the phone call) notice his hand again, a slight forward-push gesture while rotating the phone. I really hope I'm wrong, I wouldn't even hesitate to buy this.
Hey Steve Jobs, 2/10/10
Why is it if an AT&T store sells you an Iphone once you step out the door
if it quites working you can't return to that store.My iphone kept on getting a
message that asked if I wanted to enter "Airplane Mode". Turns out APPLE
Has a policy that calls for this, and there is no other choice even though I
Just purchased the Iphone.That means either I drive 44 miles to store in
Tampa or mail it in and wait for return,during which time I have no phone.
Oh, yeah the AT&T store was no help, and said I wouldn't be billed for
contract change but guess what? I got a bill for $148.00,which after several
hours on phone I got cleared up.(I hope) Anyway I gave up returned Iphone
which the AT&T store could accept even though that can't take back faulty
units.Cancelled my service after 25 years and I am going to try Verison.
Just Google Iphone problems to see what I mean.
Opps, 2/25/10 , and guess who just got another bill from AT&T ?
Another $76.33
Yeah, good thing they record all their calls so they can hear not once
but twice(2 diffrent people) tell me I owe absolutley nothing.Zero
balance. And again I spend 40 more minutes on phone this time
to be told that those things were never said to me. So I guess it
will have to go to court 'cause I ain't pay'n yall. Until Iphone I
used to love this company. Just Google Iphone AT&T problems
before you buy from AT&T, you will be glad you did.
Brilliant
I want that office phone! What kind is it and where can I get it?
Its fake - you can see the original case of a iphone on his desk
