I specifically set windows update to not automatically install. But when I shut the computer down it installed it.
Thinking about re-installing the OS out of spite.

its not selected as default, so only you need to select to install.

And go through WPA again when you are finished with the installation. Yeah, makes perfect sense to flatten your machine for that.
