MoProUSA shows off fully integrated Wiimote pistols, tempts investors (video)
As a Nintendo Wii owner, you've certainly got a smattering of options when it comes time to fire up the light gun, but even Nintendo's Wii Zapper can't hold a candle to this. Moishe Levison of MoProUSA has given us an inside look at what he's been working on for the past few years, and while everything is obviously still in prototype form, we can't help but be impressed. In short, he's looking to create a new range of free gaming pistols, including one that requires no additional Wiimote and Nunchuk to operate. His flagship gun, the Duel Pro, is actually modeled from a replica pistol, and it tucks the guts of a Wii controller and Nunchuk entirely inside of its casing. There's also an analog nub on both sides, enabling gamers to switch from one hand to the other should the action get too intense with the simple press of a toggle switch. Moreover, a color-changing LED is positioned on the rear in order to give instant feedback when an input is recognized, and did we mention that this thing looks stupendously realistic?
Another option is the Duel Eagle, which does require a separate Wiimote to be inserted in the top (much like Nyko's Perfect Shot), but places the 'C' and 'Z' buttons within grasping range on the gun's handle. The Duel Agent works similarly, but provides a more compact design for those who like to pack their heat in a more lightweight fashion. In both of these, the motion controls are integrated into the grip. The company actually has no plans to manufacture these on its own, but instead hopes to find an investor or two to buy the utility patent and turn the light gun market upside-down. We asked Moishe if this kind of technology could be applied on weaponry for Sony's PS3 or Microsoft's Xbox 360, and while he did confess that it was feasible, he's keeping his focus firmly fixed on the Wii for now. Feel free to poke around in the prototype gallery below, but don't leave this post without tapping that 'Read More' link and seeing the lineup handled on video. Seriously, you'll score +5 macho points just from watching.

VIDEO NOT AVAILIBLE!?!?!?!
@Jacob Apple Geek
Worked for me! Dang, I can totally see that at some party, someones gonna get drunk and play this and accidentally grab a real gun and blow a hole through someones brand new 55-inch UN55C7000 TV. Then Samsung will need to modify their warranty to exclude drunken Wii gun discharge....
@Joe Cool Yeah now it is working.... thanks
@Joe Cool
Who keeps a loaded gun on their coffee table when having a party?
@James Rednecks?
@James
I don't know, better ask Plaxico
lol, I made a rhyme!
Why did my comment just disappear and why is there no video?
@Jacob Apple Geek nevermind my comment is back.... still no video
Yeah, they're for playing games...why not make them day glow orange or neon green? A kid gets seen messing around with that thing and some curtain twitching granny is going to dial emergency and have the little tyke shot.
@Tes Exactly what I was thinking. Aren't they required to put an orange tip on something this realistic?
Yay, teach kids that realistic looking firearms are toys.
And I can already see some gangster dressin' kid just runnin' across the street to play at his buds house gettin' shot swinging around one of these. *facepalm*
Make it look like a laser gun and change the color if its marketed to kids.
@Ducman69
Dude, when I was growing up all our toy guns looked like real guns. Not like today's wussified toy guns.
@Dorf
I'm sure if you think bac they all had a silly orange bit on the end..

@Dorf
Well look at it this way. Today the average LEO seems rather jumpy, so I'd rather not have any kids running around with one of these in their hands.Remember these are the same class of cops that can outnumber a skinny college kid five to one and still somehow need a taser. So yeah bright colors would seem prudent.
That being said, people do need to teach their children firearm safety. That would cut down on a bunch of accidents.
@Tes
The orange tip is actually require by US LAW on all "firearm lookalikes that aren't actually firearms"
So, if these ship (shipped!?) without the orange on the end, these folks could be in some serious trouble.
@Ducman69 I can see a poor kid showing his friends one of these and getting shot by a rookie cop now. I thought all toy gins had to have that flame orange tip? I wonder if the shipping product looks as good.
@Tes
Yeah, wasn't that like in the late 80's when that law passed. I'm pretty sure I had toy guns without it before that law.
@Kid Red its the veteran cops that are more likely to shoot first ask questions later, as they have heard all the stories over the years of other cops having been shot at by teens.
in houston at least gangs often recruit young teens for peddling drugs and the like, and some mini-thugs even use replica guns to rob people and then just claim they were playing 'cops and robbers' if confronted and can't run away.
Are those "guns" from an episode of Ace of Cakes of what?
They look like they're made out of lumpy (and delicious) white cake and fondant.
@jhcovert
id love to be on the barrel end of a cake gun!
@doug om nom nom! xD
@fperennes Doesn't sound American. South African accent I think.
This is Wii-Diculous, but Wii want to play. These are Wii-lly bad jokes
They will, of course, need to paint them bright orange or children will be waving their realistic looking gun controllers around and someone will inevitably be shot.
Those wii-motes look very KIRF-ish....
I can see the headline now: "Man Robs Bank with Wii-mote"
@fperennes Oh that youtube guys American accent is good. I mean the guy in the engadget video showing off the gadget.
first of all they look uber cheesy and second he should make a foregrip for the pistol (nunchuck) and keep the gun the normal wii remote
I foresee some angry parents who in no way moderate their children, but complain about the availability of mature content.
Yes Jimmy, you can have this lifelike gun, I mean, what can I do if you want something? I guess Ill have to get out my pickets again!
@fperennes
WTF are you even talking about? So now Wii and FPS games are born from "US Americans and OUR guns"?
Is the Donger r'tarded?
I can just see the people at the FAA cringing over this.
Pew Pew!
Imagine hitting someone the the head with these on accident, or hitting your tv by accident to.
now if only Nintendo made graphics than can compete with the PS3 and 360....
No orange tip? Awesome.
@derrickONLINE I have to work on my proofreading.
@derrickONLINE hey you guys deleted my comment! It's was true, who else do cops shoot 232 times by "mistake". Damn that was some quick moderation.
Imagine a Wiimote M4A1...I've been playing CS:S for too long *sighs*
@weeman speaking of CSS, im surprised no one said anything about the DEagle.... i mean Duel Eagle :P
I would guess the white pair are based an the Sig Sauer P220 and P226 while the black model might be a Walther P99
@cmilleraz The black one most closely resembles a Taurus 24/7 (the rubbery handgrip is the biggest similarity).
This time, if the cops of Polk County, FL ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsXo8TwJyBI ) decided to play Wii during their next raid, they could just chulk it off as.... training...?
campbell@scdny.com
We'll see if the NYPD looks for the little orange tip before shooting a kid with one of these on the subway. 41 shots later, "Uh oh, that Glock has an orange tip!"
Tempts investors?
"Go ahead, punk. Make my day."
I thought it was required by law that all fake guns, big or small, needed to have orange painted on them to identify them as such. Pretty sure that was put into law after a couple incidents of cops shooting people with fake guns.
@fperennes You europeans and your pussies.
It's completely skipping my mind, but what games even uses the Zapper to begin with? I don't like to think that some uninformed person will be walking around with this to a friend's party and risk being arrested or something.
Wii a gun that looks like a gun let the fun begin
WOW! I wish someone had thought of this sooner! What pleasure to be able to use only one hand. Since I had a stroke, it's hard to use two hands and play the WII.
Wow finally something impressive on the wii
