Palm is dead, Pre is no where as close to even 1st gen Iphone in terms of usability or performance (poor bettery life, load times are terrible).
@macandme just get out of here, troll.
I for one am just glad that palm isn't letting their devices get splintered like android is. I mean there is still devices running 1.5. When the nexus 1 is on 2.1.1 if I remember right. I love my droid but if I could get a pre plus id drop it in a heartbeat. Its a little redclious that I have to root it to get the latest software, and buggy software at that. So in retrospect good job palm and to moto/google where's out 2.1!
I absolutely love my Palm Pre, and think webOS is the platform with the most potential.
I don't think Palm is marketing their phone correctly...
Everytime I give a 60 second demo (and it's the same demo each time) to someone, they absolutely love the phone.
@Coolarj10
well, phones*, I suppose.
Wife just updated her Pre Plus and it feels a lot snappier now. Pretty decent video quality, too.
How is this "Breaking?" I still don't get those.
@derekdevine It just came out, I mean, what more do you want to qualify it?
@hey buddy If that's the case every thing that's new is "breaking," that's an illogical reasoning. "Breaking" should be "breaking" not an OS update.
To me, "breaking" should be something we weren't aware about, like product announcements (iPhone 3G, Palm Pre Plus), issue with services (MobileMe down, Playstation Network down). "Breaking" could also apply to something that was a rumor and is now real (iPad). "Breaking" should be used for a plausible reason, not an OS update. But that's just my perspective and clearly you have yours, which is fine.
Typical Engadget bias for Verizon/AT&T over Sprint.
Message to Joshua Topolsky: the Palm Pre and Pixie came out on Sprint first.
If you were a real reporter you'd understand that stories should be based on ALL the relevant data and not on the brand you happen to own or like better.
And yeah - we got our updates too - with the exact same features and about two hours earlier.
