T-Mobile CLIQ XT spotted in the wild
Looks like the Motorola CLIQ XT / Quench is getting closer to its US debut -- here it is all dressed up in T-Mobile branding. We've already done a full video hands-on with this bad boy, so we'll just point you to that for the full rundown, and to the read link for a few more pics.

Thats one ugly phone, sorry.
@dreamer3kx exactly the first thing I thought when I saw the pic. Eugh...
@dreamer3kx No hiding it, no denying it.
Not. Interested.
@dreamer3kx
Bleeping Bezels Batman! that thing is awful!
@Duckman That's not a bezel, that's a beverage coaster..
Oh yay, 2 bezel jokes in the same day!
The bezel...it burns my eyes!!!
Looks okay. I'm more interested when T-Mobile USA is going to get a successor for the G1. Mine is really starting to feel old.
Well...I like the squircle. =]
And why do we need that much bezel on a phone? That is worse then the devours bezel.
I do think the phone is ugly but why is everyone always raggin on the bezels? Get over it!
@Mtmrob
Apparently the average Engadget poster uses some kind of magical levitation to hold their phones up and not actually hold it in their hands or else they might realize that you need to hold the phone somewhere - having some kind of bezel around the screen is quite necessary in the real world. The bezel on this phone looks only slightly wider than the one on my BlackBerry.
Of course the pic that Engadget decided to use above only exasperates the issue because there is the screen edge and then the AccuWeather window edge which makes the screen look extra tiny.
I think the shape of this phone is great = has some nice curves to fit in your pocket and the touchpad area seems handy... it's the lack of keyboard that bothers me.
This is only tangentially related, but now that we have these app stores, I'm starting to notice the same apps across multiple platforms looking exactly the same. E.g., Accuweather (above) looks exactly as it does on my Pre, and Let's Golf on the iPhone (another screenshot in another story) looks exactly like it does on my Pre.
What does this all mean? I have no idea...just thought it was interesting that apps are converging despite OSes diverging.
@CRA1G OK, on 2nd look, Accuweather is *almost* exactly the same.
Motorola, please don't start the RAZR syndrome again.
Phone looks as out of date as that dude's jeans.
@ECH
I didn't' see his jeans but I did notice the herpes blister on his thumb. Gross.
Most underwhelming. T-Mobile once again goes for mediocrity.
I wanted believe the Droid was a new beginning for Moto, but I guess it was just a case of blind squirrel acorn.
That could, quite possibly, be the UGLIEST phone I've seen in a while. Who told the industry that people wanted more bezel, less screen?
If you are a T-Mobile subscriber with an Android smartphone that is not a Nexus One, you are failing at life.
Motoroi?? :/
that is a hideous phone. Who at Motorola hired Helen Keller to handle their design work?
where's the screen? all i can see is BEZEL.
what happened to the sexy motorola that made the droid? i feel like all their android offering have been pretty fug.
Oh I'm sorry, did I miss the day when we started to go backwards in time? That's a fucking hideous phone. I thought we already went through Design 101 back in 2007...
More bezel plz.
They should brand it the MOTO BZL!
That huge rocker switch better also be a touch pad.
how did a phone this ugly make it past the design board?
Who would honestly buy this? It looks like an Android version of the T-mobile Tap
3.1? it says 5.0mp on the lens.
