ASUS debuts Bang & Olufsen ICEpowered N-series laptops and 3D gamer displays

It's CeBIT time again kids; a chance for the world's vendors to show off much of what was already unveiled at CES in Las Vegas to Europeans for the first time publicly (what, the internet's not good enough?). Just announced in Germany is a trio of N-series laptops -- N43, N63 and N73 pictured above -- with USB 3.0, Intel Core processors, and Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio that seems to contradict itself by offering affordable, yet "unflinching" audio quality. ASUS also unveiled its VG236H and PG276H Full HD 3D displays to augment its 3D laptops. No details were provided but we'll guess that we're looking at roughly 24-inch and 27-inch displays based on those model numbers. No pics of the displays but we've got a backside shot of the N63 after the break.

Yum.
B&E Speakers.....in a laptop.........right...
First that outrageously priced B&E LCD TV that is extremely unnecessary, now they are working with laptop audio? Sad.
@Oflife
Don't need... but... must... have...
@(Unverified) B&O
(:
That looks very impressive!
@Voss
It looks horrendously sexy if you asked me...
@archkron I totally agree, I'm not a fan of ASUS models but this one looks very nice!
@Voss
Aaaagreed, it's a beauty!
24" and 27" laptops !!!
@URPradhan
These laptops are evolutions of the existing N series and thus you can determine their screen sizes by the first digit after the N in the model number - 4 for 14.1" , 6 for 16" , and 7 for 17.3"
The smallest screen model will not have the numberpad on right side of the keypad.
Personally I am not a fan of the off center keypad (I like symmetry) and the media buttons do not have to be so large so they could easily have the keypad centered and still keep the touch sensitive media buttons down the left side (though they are just fine at the top on the current N series to)
Now THAT is how you make a modern elegant laptop.
@chiefy
True dat =D
It's a looker and is probably going to cost way too much for me. I don't see the point of having a class D amp in your laptop either.
@Ryback
reminds me of aopens vacuum tube motherboard. :)
27inch?!? WTF??? So will they be changing the name of the notebook from LAPtop to BEDtop?
@Dsunbury
Reading not your strongest side, is it?
The 24" and 27" displays are separate, nothing to do with the notebooks.

And sarcasm not YOUR strong side ;-)
this has a numpad and massive of space either side.. it looks great but its now looks HUGE need some pictures of it in use to be able to tell!
You guys should read better, they're 24 & 27 inch stand-alone displays that can handle 3D when you attach it to the 3D laptops.
That's no laptop. It's a space station.
"Intel Core processor"? That's damn vague. It could be Intel Core Solo for all I know..
@joshl
Pretty sure they mean Core i-series.
I like the look of that laptop a whole lot more than that dual-touchpad monstrosity they revealed at CES.
ICEpowered !!??
That's insane.
How much fuel could you carry?
They should have gone hybrid at least and probably full electric.
It's a bold step.
Now that's really hot.
Like a lot of B&O products this probably looks better in a catalog than in real life. There is a B&o store right around the corner from where I live. Their designs used to be sleek and minimalist. Now it's just big and messy looking.
This design seems to combine traditional Asus style with Sony vaio style elements. The huge screen means it'll mostly compete with the iMac. At 17 inches it would compete with the mac book pro and below that with the vaio z. I still consider the vaio z the most impressive notebook out there!
I'm an Apple fan ... love their stuff. But...
I suddenly think I NEED a Windows Laptop :) My goodness that thing is beautiful. Thank you B&O
I kept this tab open so that while I read other news articles I could flick back just to look at it.
@Jub
LMAO!
The one great thing about Apple, IMO, is that they inspire other brands to do great things. From the iPhone, we now have many full screen touch phones (eg, Android). From Apple laptops and desktops, we now have other manufacturers making pretty computers, which were rare outside of boutique OEMs before a couple of years ago.
