VUDU rolls in Facebook and Twitter integration
If you thought the constant roll out of VUDU updates would end once Wal-mart took over the reins, think again -- and no, were not talking about how quickly the after dark content got pulled. The update this week will be of particular interest with those who love to flood their social feeds with their every movement, as now VUDU will update your Facebook or Twitter status with the your impressions of the movie you're watching. In addition your friends with VUDU will also be able to see those particular updates, but also join in on the fun by watching the same movie. A pretty neat way to promote and discover content, but we're not sure we'd want to follow anyone with such mundane updates and wonder if baking the social features in makes more sense, you know, the way Boxee does it.

Well... if you open an oil change business next to a taco bell, is it easier to start making tacos to provide your customers or to put in a patio area and a few picnic tables for them to use?
I know, I know... it is the old 'oil change business/taco bell' cliche.
But it's a cliche because it is true.
It's not a bad idea to concentrate on your core business and partner with others who are concentrating on theirs.
Did you mean "...took over the reins...", or was "reigns" some play on words?
hey thats a bad ass movie..just saying
Why did Walmart buy Vudu?
Netflix does everything I need for pennies on the dollar. Although the one day DVD shipping is great, I have confidence that Netflix is going to bulk up their streaming service in the near future and make these other services pointless.
Why would I rent (or buy) a single movie through Vudu at $3.99 when I can pay $9.99/month for unlimited rentals plus I stream through my PS3, Xbox and others – all in different rooms.
This made me think of thisMoment, and their new channel dealie. They just did one for the new movie "kick-ass" (which looks excellent, btw).

FB, YouTube, etc. mashed together w/ UGC and commenting, etc., etc.
Seeing more and more clients (the more forward thinking ones anyway) asking about stitching their channels together. Interesting stuff.
