Super Talent Introduces Encrypted USB 3.0 SuperCrypt Drive
The USB 3.0 Flash Drive that Delivers Secure Performance in Capacities up to 256GB
San Jose, California -- March 2, 2010 -- Super Talent Technology, a leading manufacturer of Flash storage solutions and DRAM memory modules, today announced the new USB 3.0 SuperCrypt drive which features outstanding performance and supports AES hardware encryption. Available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, this new drive supports USB 3.0 speeds of up to 240MB/s. Downloading a 600MB movie takes a mere 7 seconds with this new drive.
Measuring 95 x 34 x 15.4 mm, the new SuperCrypt Drive requires no separate cable and is fully backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports, at USB 2.0 speeds. Super Talent offers two AES encryption options, both of which include the STT encryption utility for password control: the SuperCrypt drive features 128-bit ECB encryption, while the SuperCrypt Pro features 256-bit XTS encryption for very robust security. The USB 3.0 SuperCrypt drive will be available in March from Super Talent resellers worldwide. Interested parties can register here for USB 3.0 product availability updates.

Pic = win. I love you Engadget.
@steakman
Remember that kiddies, muhahahaha ahahahaha ahahhahaha!
Why "crypt?" Typically, when you put something in a crypt, you don't get it back out later.
When I saw the pic on someone's screen from afar, I thought it was a Zippo lighter with a flame shooting out its side.

wat
Me rikey dis product. Herro supercrypt!
Why pay a premium on a "USB drive with encryption" when you can take any old USB drive, combine it with TrueCrypt, and have a potentially superior product? I don't trust the "encrypted USB keys" after that one total failure a month or two ago.
@jonnythan : I was thinking the same thing! I doubt this thing allows you to use keyfiles, triple cascade encryption schemas, or hidden volumes within an encrypted folder.
@jonnythan 2nd that. Truecrypt is the best.
@jonnythan I will do that when you can find me only old USB flash drive that has a 240MB/s transfer rate.
So this is USB3, nice. But other than that - is there something this thing - or any other 'encrypted' thumbdrive does - that you can't accomplish with Truecrypt?
Muthafreakin' Crypt Keeper!
I miss "Tales from the Crypt" ... they should bring that back.
HBO, get to work on that.
Of course, that might mean the Crypt Keeper could be in CG, so that would suck.
@Meekermoloko
When CGI they made me, hilarious I became.
@Lord Vader
If you strike him down, he will become more powerful than you could ever imagine.
Now that's what I'd call the thumbdrive of my screams! heehehehe!
What was the purpose of putting such a disgusting picture for the article?
@djtemp
....it's from Tales from the Crypt...and that is the Cryptkeeper....get it? SuperCRYPT.....CRYPTkeeper.....ahhh forget it....
I like that
Finally, this beats out the 128gb one by corsair by a longshot...and its chinese...so if you don't like it..just lick it and the lead will take care of the rest.
Not reading the article, does this drive have the same chips that were the basis for the SanDisk, Kingston and Verbatim thumbdrive vulnerability? i.e. this STT password control application suffers from the same design problems.
Finally copying files off my nemesis' computer will be more like the movies.
Why?
Why does Super Talent's logo always make me think of Walmart. Similar fonts I guess.
look at the size of this, it will never fit in while my other usb devices are plugged in.
@Smart People Play Tuba
confused i am, yoda's speech pattern here...lacking it is.
Yo Dawg, I heard you like crypts so we put some crypt on your crypt so you can get creeped out while you encrypt.
Does this mean ready boost will actually help now?
And it has a cap. Good job you idiots. When will you realize that we don't want a stupid cap that we will loose within the first two weeks of use?
How is it compatible with USB 2.0? I thought USB 2.0 could be plugged into a USB 3.0 port, but not the opposite because the USB 3.0 plug is longer...? Or did they figure out a way around that?
Looks plain but that's is "Talent"
take this, corsair!
