Microsoft may be saving most of its Windows Phone 7 Series news for MIX the week after next (at least that's what we've heard
whispers about), but it looks like it's still dishing out a few more details beforehand, as evidenced by a short demonstration Microsoft's Charlie Kindel gave to
CNET. Nothing major like a confirmation of
HD2 support, but we do get a glimpse of a few apps we haven't seen before (including a flashlight, level, and weather app -- all supposedly "trivial" to build thanks to
XNA and Silverlight), and a look at some new screens for various applications we have seen, including a better look at the Xbox Live hub. Head on past the break to check out the video for yourself.
soo if i decide to make an app for this, will it work on my zuneHD too? (yaknow after taking the lack of camera, for example, into consideration)
Now put that same OS also on some sweet HTC tablet hardware to come and I am in.
Don't forget to include:
- Flash
- USB
- Tethering
- Widescreen
- Narrow frames
- Everything that is restricted in iPad
@Mikkis74
I am sick about people compliant about iPad bezel (or frame you call it)
Have you ever realize you need a fat bezel to hold a tablet device ?
Come on.
So now what? MeeGo vs Android vs Windows Phone vs iPhone
It's good to have better dev-tool-chain(really?)
But ultimately the software company still drop their resource base only how much the platform it sells, that's why windows have much more software than OSX. That's just business.
The reason iPhone has so much apps is not because Steve has 'magic' can turn developer to his fan boys.
The scrolling on the home screen was almost never smooth when he started it.
Also, why are they calling this Xbox tile a "Gaming" tile? Gaming is the only thing you can't do there.
@TareG
I love how he forces himself to say "And now I'll open up the experience"
dude... that's so played out and cheesy. It's not an app? Ok..whatever.
So WP7 won't have Fart Apps, it'll have Fart Experiences?
Now that you renamed it, its so much better.
With 80% unregistered touches in the video, I'd say that they better
get back to the lab with this one.
I'm wondering winpho 7 gaming series, a slide out keyboard with a d-pad and action button (xbox game pad button) rather than qwerty keyboard, whoalaa.. U find a xbox portable phone..
Wonder what's caused MSFT to start promoting products more than 9 months away from release? Current line up sucks?
Will current XNA games run on WP7S? If so, there could instantly be a ton of games available from the start.
Im so torn!!!! I still want the HD2...weeps in agony
all ugly.. all the time
Does it have a dedicated F1 key?
looks promising but too many questions remains unanswered for me. what about the core phone features?? phone? sms? mms? visual voicemail? settings? push notifications? and what about the OS updates?? is it gonna be like previous wm os? or OTA? im really worried about this one. i live in canada and canadians carriers are just lazy when it comes to software upgrades. i really wish i could dump my iphone, but so far its the MAIN reason im keeping it. i hope there will be more at mix10 than just all that people zune pictures gaming hub thing. showcase the PHONE function plz.
please reply if anyone know or heard something, thanks :)
