Dell Inspiron One 19 all-in-one turns up at Walmart
Well, here's a bit of an interesting surprise -- Dell's Inspiron One 19 all-in-one desktop, previously only announced for Japan and still not on Dell's US website, kicking back at a Walmart in the US of A. From the looks of it, the specs are more or less in line with what we've heard before, including an 18.5-inch widescreen display, a Pentium Dual Core E5400 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 640GB hard drive, along with a price said to be "around $600." Unfortunately, there's no indication of how widespread availability is right now, but feel free to let us know in comments if you happen to spot one.

Better off with a netbook than this... But hey, maybe for Grama?
@n0ne
Great-Grandma
@n0ne Show me the netbook you are looking at that has a Core E5400 processor, 4GB of RAM, 640GB hard drive...Shouldn't even mention the 19 inch screen.
Besides, different tools for different jobs.
@Nitesh I bought a studio one 19 for my parents, nice machine-fast and looks nice, but the fan noise is unbearable for me. Not because its loud, when the machine gets hot and fan kicks in, the fan oscillates on different speed (high and low speed) on a consistent short interval, feels like someone's breathing really hard, very strange and annoying.
Fortunately my parents don't notice it but I think its a common design issue for this line, updating BIOS didn't help either. So just be careful when buying this Inspiron one 19 as well, might got the same issue.
Why is Pentium making a comeback?
@TareG Why not? THe tech is developed, and seems like everyone wants a slow computer in the past year. AMIRITE?
@TareG well it appears to be the new unreleased Pentium that is a robot and dual core and almost 3 GHz
@TareG Its not, the stripped down Core 2's are re-branded as pentiums. Its still the Core architecture though.
@TareG
They didn't make a bad chip and then release it without warning *cough*AMD*cough. Then they decided to make a few chips cheaper, cooler, and more powerful...Marketing too...
Apparently, 18.5" is now the same as 19".
@soren121 Well, in math you round of. 18.5 = 19
@n0ne
But in statistics, 18.5 rounds to 18.
@decalfx 18.5 rounds off to 19... If it was 18.4, that would round off to 18.
Yeah i saw one in here in the walmart in florida.
They are here in Christiansburg, VA Walmart. Perfect Email/Office machine.
Lets see, a dell computer (which does not yet exist according to dell.com) manufactured in Asia - read China, for $600? Not bad. Is windows 7 running in native Chinese?
Saw one in the wal-mart of fredonia, ny (south of buffalo)
@mastercheif
Woahhh, a buffalonian! I just moved away :((
These have been available online in Australia for months, infact there's even a touch version now.
@decalfx shut up pls.
Have this in our elect. dept. for bout a week now.
ive seen this at walmart for awhile now (work there), no one wants to but it tho
Been in Wal-Marts for a couple of weeks now. Haven't seen any of them actually get bought (though we rarely sell dells due to bad pricing).
Lol I just bought this computer at walmart two months ago.
@popalex How is it? Build quality? Noise?
@Nitesh Actually I really like the build but I dont like the sound it sounds wierd. Other than that its great because Microsft Word came installed and windows seven great.
The HP offering is so much nicer, although I generally don't like all-in-ones when you can just hang those little atom330/ion nettops on the back of any monitor so you can pick out what monitor (or monitors) you want.
Wow! They just realized! This computer has been at Walmart since a few months ago!
@Tothamax Yeah I have seen it there since Dec.
why do so many leaked photos either feature blurry cam or a finger? a 3 year old can hold a camera still with their fingers out the way!
lol..........this thing has been on sale at walmart for a while now......a few months. It looks cool.....the specs are decent for the price. I would buy one....based on looks. But then again, it is a DELL......ugh.
i'll be picking up one of these for my kitchen as soon as its available.
this isn't new.. my cousin has had this since last month. he bought it from walmart.
i saw one of these in a starkville, ms walmart about 1-2 weeks ago
I saw these in my walmart in Indiana. I guess I just did not realize that these were not yet available in the US yet.
and the difference between this and the studio one 19?
@Bashere Studio 19 has touchscreen and wireless keyboard+mouse, and I think looks a bit nicer than this.
@diehippiedie aside from the obvious cosmetic differences. what i meant was they have the same specs unless you go the route of cutomizing it. xould be why they arent selling the inspiron one except at walmart.
Is that a tit in the foreground?
See, see, this here is one of Dell's biggest problems!! It puts stuff on sale at random and removes it from being sold just as randomly! No one knows what they're selling half the time! They make some absolutely fantastic products, but along with the Adamo XPS being take off their site today, this is the second issue has with not telling what they're selling, what they're not selling, and why or why not in 24 hours! What's wrong with you, Dell?? You should be doing better than this! I am watering at the mouth for the Mini 5 tablet but I'll never know when you're selling it because I won't see an ad for it! Just an add for a stupid netbook! Grrr....Dear Dell, I can fix you and make you tons of money. You just gotta listen to me.
These are availible at the super Walmart in Macedon, New York if anyone wants one!!
I work in the electronics at a Walmart in AR and we have had them for 2-3 weeks now. They are a good seller
I saw them in a Wal-Mart in Lexington over the weekend.
@Kirbdaddy
Which Lexington? If you're talking about Lexington, Kentucky then I'll need to check around the stores here.
I just bought one for my dad at Walmart, Norwalk, CT. It was the only one and I had to mussle it away from an indecisive customer. This is no BS, I paid $398. It was dropped by $100 from $498. I wasn't even thinking about a Dell or an all-in-one but when I saw this and read the specs I jumped on it. I didn't realize that it was not even officially out on the shelf yet. Looks like I grabbed a deal on someones fuckup.
i actually saw one of these and didnt really think twice bout it O_o
I work at the wal-mart in gibsonton florida, store # 5300 and we have quiet a few of these in stock!!
we have had this for 2 months now in austrlia
You all sure it's the inspirion your seeing and not the studio? Studio has been out for awhile.
I saw one of these at the Walmart in Fargo, ND about a week ago... I thought I was crazy because I had never seen it on the dell website. I legitimately told my friend that the computer we were looking at didn't exist lol.
