HP rolls out 'Let's Do Amazing' ad campaign
We'd already gotten word of HP's new $40 million "Let's Do Amazing" ad campaign earlier today, but the company has just now rolled out its first series of ads to give us some indication of how all that money is being spent. Somewhat curiously, for an ad campaign partly intended to reintroduce the HP brand to consumers, the ads stray pretty far beyond HP's consumer products (including a trip to a UPS sorting facility and the Venetian's IT department), but we do at least get to see Dr. Dre extol the benefits of HP Beats audio -- not to mention a little beatboxing from Rhys Darby of "Flight of the Conchords," who serves as the host of the ads. Head on past the break to check out the Dre ad and HP's introduction video, and hit up the link below for the rest of the series.

judging from the lamentable support that they offer for their printers, can I suggest they amend their amazingly inappropriate tag-line to "Let's make it work"?
@citroenDS HP and every printer manufacturer makes printers of varying MTBF (meantime before failure) the MTBF of a $29 deskjet is around 3 years, the MTBF of a $3,000 designjet is about 15 years; and they support them accordingly. So basically... you get what you pay for.
The ad works better as a endorsement for Dr. Dre Beats. Lots of product placements. Although in the second ad the audio guy behind Dre, his headphone change from Black to White during the ad.
Maybe HP is making the courier?
Well that was shit
meh.
He is Still D.R.E.
they are hillarious .
i wonder if the HP Envy 15 Beats sounds better than my Ipaq HX2490 or my older Asus A620 PDA ... or my iRiver H10 ..maybe they've done some magic with the Audio Amp&Codec chip .
@mobilus don't know about the 'beats' models like the envy, but my HDX16T has the dolby HT/altec with subwoofer builtin and kinda rocks- loudest laptop i've ever heard, and not buzzing out or anything at highvolumes.
@aeonjoey damn, nice laptop you have , love the GPU in it .. men , the comercial is about hearing better via headphones.. how does your do that?(replay comercial and see that they only target headphones sound ) :) they also sell their special headphones alone.
What a load of crap........ Another crap HP Ad!
the guy in the commercial... he seems familiar...

@engadget The second source link is with a space at the end so it doesn't work.
That HP ads are kinda funny, good for them.
Lol epic
LOL the aussie guy is damn funny
A tiny question, isn't that some Apple OS behind on Dr. Dre's screens? :p
Hahahahahaha! This is so.
NOT FUNNY.
You guys seriously laugh at this crap?
What are you, five?
Or do you work at Wal-Mart?
@hellojoaquin duuuude..there are more than 1 reason to laugh..
you can laugh because some guys made a stupid comercial ..
you can laugh because Dr.Dre is talking about stuff he does'nt know
you can laugh because that guy jogges with his laptop hearing music instead of having an ipod .. .
you can laugh because the slogan has pooor grammar
there are many reasons .. you only have to search :D
sweet beats headphones... i'd get a pair if they weren't so darn expensive!
It's a good ad, though I imagine over the heads of most Americans and certainly over most Engadget commenters, I don't know Dr. Dre or the guy from Flight of the Conchords doing the ad except from reading about them here, but it still makes sense and I can see how this would improve the HP brand for many people. At least it's not smarmy like Apple ads. Still wouldn't buy a product from either in a hurry, but no amount of advertising will ever change that. I'll wait for them to release decent products at acceptable price levels that are reliable/not disabled first.
to bad the studio blows
cant believe there still in business
looks good in the Ad though but ( I guess you can Polish a turd )
Can anyone here Identify which monitors those are in the picture?
@RokitBlast the black and white ones specifically.
@RokitBlast
the mains are Focal Woofers and a Ribbon Tweeter
the neirfields are Yamaha NS-10m
@RokitBlast the monitor in the foreground is an HP w2338h ; the large one in the background is a 2709m
These ads suck just as much as HP computers.... Okay.. the Dre one was a little funny..
@marxanth well then they don't suck much at all then. *smiles at HP HDX16T humming along on Windows7 for the past 4 months without rebooting*
@aeonjoey Early days my friend.. lets talk in about 8-12 more months..
The "Create amazing" ad was cool.. the one with the rescue song... these here dont do anything for me :|
these 'life in passing' type commercials don't really do it for me - there's a saying in automobile marketing: "SHOW THE CAR" well HP needs to show their product, stop making gimmicks. Tho gimmicks seem to have worked for Apple, with or without substance *glares at 'just work'-ing macs with their beach-balls of death, vanishing applications and overheating boothangs 24/7* flameon! ;D
the monitor in the foreground is an HP w2338h ; the large one in the background is a 2709m
Why the hell should hp make better sounds?
They just make crappy computers, isn't that what they do?
www.macaround.it
They should get their money back. It's not the worst adverts ever but they suck.
@Lord Vader dude you should have un-chocked their IQ ..
Do they actually say Daaamn! at the end of these spots? I am all for hip, but I don't want to buy things for my kids from a company that needs to swear to make themselves look good. PS Let's Do Amazing = goofy as heck. Sounds like a good tagline for David Copperfield's traveling magic show.
