Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I finally got a new laptop with a lone USB 3.0 port. I'm now looking at getting a USB 3.0 hub with a power adapter so I can use both of my USB 3.0 hard drives at faster speeds. I've read lots of horror stories where some hubs either don't come with power adapters -- and as a consequence the portable drives don't work with them properly -- or they are designed poorly which results in USB 2.0 speeds. Or, the hard drives keep getting disconnected. Do your readers have any suggestions or experience using USB 3.0 hubs? Thanks!"
And I honestly have no problem with that.
@maddawg579
Good to know, but many of us do mind. Why didn't Microsoft just license the iPhone (I know....). Funny how so many people complained about Apple's restricted store but are fine when its Microsoft following suit.
@Canucker
Who says the marketplace will be locked down like Apple, knowing Microsoft it will be the complete opposite.
@Canucker
Well I think it's because after 2 years of watching the iPhone app store evolve, we can see that it works (for the most part). As long as Microsoft doesn't go crazy-nazi-commando on the apps like Apple is doing, it should be fine.
Plus, they're promising more transparency and more leniency.
@maddawg579
Exactly maddawg
Not sure why everyone is surprised.
This is a smart move and it only makes sense. I'm getting so excited for this.
I have a 360 Elite and a Windows PC. If MS can truly deliver an experience on par with the iPhone (especially when it comes to the web) I'm ALL IN with tihs baby.
@reader1
And how exactly would you make stupid statements like yours without the web?
@reader1
You're like a broken record.
@kitsune and everyone who downranked reader1's comment:
He was being sarcastic. The moment he said "eventually do away with the web browser" you should have taken the hint that he was not serious. Unfortunately, apple has locked down their phone so much that you are NOT free to do what you want with the hardware YOU PURCHASED. Apple has also moved this philosophy toward the real computer by locking their ipad/netbook alternative down just like their iphone. He has a reason to be irritated by microsoft's move towards this kind of policy.
@TheLionOfAzzalle Believe it or not, this is an even better move for Devs, because someone cant' make or take my app and sell it for 0. I guess people don't consider the downside to piracy if your the one making stuff. This mean, as a dev I can make my app and the only way you can get it is buy or try from the app store, no rapidshare cab to steal.
@New Reformation
Read his other comments first, then you can judge whether he is being sarcastic. Every one of his other comments is like this, so unless they are all sarcastic, I am going with he is a troll.
@New Reformation
hes a troll, and all those that follow comments on the site know this. all his comments will be down ranked until engadget disables his account.
@maddawg579: I'm torn, as I'm a bit 'old school' in that I started with the Palm and moved to WM, and just hate that OS makers are becoming the sole distributor of mobile programs.
My primary gaming is done on the 360, and I switch between GfWindows and Steam on the PC, so the appeal of great hardware and an integrated gaming experience is strong, but with the 'official official' confirmation of 'only through MS', I can wait a few extra months to see if the folks at XDA (or anywhere for that matter), can find a workaround that isn't as irritating as jailbreaking every time there's an update to the OS.
@Canucker "Funny how so many people complained about Apple's restricted store but are fine when its Microsoft following suit."
For starters, I imagine Microsoft will allow other browsers on it's mobile platform. Oh the irony..
@tolarindr
Man, the shit he says is so absurd it's hilarious. I think we should start UPranking him so everyone can get a good laugh.
@maddawg579 At the end of the day, you want smooth running official apps, rather than scraps from each corner of the internet. Im for this.
@Mr Blue
Huh? I run an alternate browser on my iPhone, and it came from the App Store.
@reader1
LOL I'm pretty sure you are being sarcastic but judging by the fact that i had to unhide your comment it didn't go too well.
@tolarindr Not just on this site - I can name at least one other site he posts frequently (and makes a lot of red bars appear as a result) :)
@Devhux
Heh yeah I see that now I was looking around at some of the other Apple related posts and indeed most of his posts seem to fade into the shadows fairly quickly.
