HTC Desire shows up in slinky silver (video)
Here's another thing the Desire has that the Nexus One doesn't: a second color option. We're told our Dutch buddies will soon be able to skip the default gunmetal paintjob that's shared by HTC's twin brothers and opt into the silvery casing you see above. The pictures are captioned with a note saying the silver Desire will be exclusive to BelCompany in the Netherlands, but we've found a few other retailers claiming their own exclusief. Either way, we still don't know how things will shake out elsewhere, but at least there won't be too long to wait. We've got video of the very slightly altered handset after the break.

i Desire the HTC Desire !
@oringal holy shit, that's a frikin hell of a beast.
@oringal
Steve:
iDesire to sue the HTC Desire
@oringal
That doesn't look to bad. Maybe it's finally getting through that people don't want cheap looking, clunky plastic phones.
@oringal
Then to HTC I say well done...or should I say, Bravo?
@oringal i desire the 'slinky' desire ;p
@oringal +1 that silver one is looking good!
@oringal OH DESAIAAHHHHHHHH http://yfrog.com/7h1264530002187j
@aeth Watch out, Apple probably licenced the word Bravo..
You know, "slinky" as an adjective is just one of those words that a straight male should probably never use - much like sumptuous, scrumptious, divine and "I dreamt that Jake Gyllenhaal and I were fvcking all night"
Delete slinky and we'll pretend it never happened, yes?
@Mister Warmth
Or you could stop being so close-minded...
I'll take it whatever colour as soon as it hits the shores of England
@TateLyle
The N1 color is boring. I hope they had a variety of color but I doubt they will. Only third party will provide such a service. You'll get bored of the existing color pretty quick.
thats just too funny! love the video! HAHA
Belcompany?

Looks more like Coolblue (The name of a number of gadgetry-related shops) to me than that, or perhaps they both have an 'exclusive'. Anyway, I think I prefer the darker color scheme, not that I'm getting this phone.
looks pretty sexy, what specs that bad boy got ?
@appleipad It's an HTC branded and slightly modified N1
@z0phi3l
a N1 with more ram
DAMN that bitch is sexy
Oh, SNap! Look at that HTC device - all livin' up to its name n' stuff.
when will this be state side?
I'm torn between my N1 and Desire. I like the desire styling better but I'm not a fan of sense and the N1 will be updated more frequently.
Curse Android and their choices!
@johnnyLong, you can easily disable Sense if you wish.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2Amcaot1Us
@Merkie Its less about sense and more to do with updates. Android is moving forward fast and I'll like to have the updates available sooner then when HTC normally provide them.
@Merkie
You can ONLY disable the Sense Launcher.. the majority of the FRAMEWORK and Sense Apps are there even if you don't want them. I for example want certain features from Sense (Leap, Music App, etc) and the simplicity of Vanilla Apps. (Desire ROM on N1)
@johnnyLong +1
Nexus One plus extra buttons. Whats not to like?
@Nitesh
Sense and slow updates
Why are back and search on the same button? It makes no sense.
@Timmmmmm
Thanks to HTC, it all makes Sense!
@Timmmmmm I've wondered this since the Hero, who knows?
@Timmmmmm
it's not really one button... one side clicks down to trigger a different button below, and the other the same.
Same here, any color, just let me have it! :D
It looks average to be honest but the specs and the OS still make it orgasmic.
@Hydraulics My girl just called and orgasmed over the phone. She must have sensed I was reading this article.
Really, REALLY want!
I have the silver on pre-order, get your facts straight engadget!
I prefer the other color
I still prefer the gunmetal color, but the silver looks nice too. As the Desire will probably be officially available in my country, I'll buy this instead of the N1. The HW is pretty much the same...
@Gerusz : nice mug-shot, what did they charge you with?
@One Love
No common Sense
Best touchscreen-only phone out there... even though the X10 has a front camera, this one trumps it with better software.
Now that WP7S is no longer an option for me, Android seems to be the logical choice.
im going for the legend... bcause too much sexeeh
How can folks in the States import phones like this? I see that Amazon UK won't do it.
@DrawnToScale
I've had good experiences with cellswholesale.com.
Now THAT is a phone. SOLD!! (Well, at least when it comes stateside)
Any real confirmation that this phone coming to AT&T? I already know that its heading for T-Mobile UK
@Killafiend
It won't ever get to AT&T since they unofficially got the N1... wouldn't make sense to get the Desire at this point... I know sad news.
@beckhams777 The Desire will be the subsidized version of the N1 for AT&T. Suck it, Steve Jobs.
@PrezBO
I really hope... AT&T says they still have an HTC and a Dell Android phones to be released...
The Dell one will be the Mini5 ( I will be soooo pissed if they just release the 3i)
The HTC one... if it's the desire then it would be awesome, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Tattoo one lol
