SlingPlayer for Android coming this summer, demoed on video

Good news, Android fans. It looks like you'll soon have a SlingPlayer to call your own. While complete details are still pretty light, the company was showing off the app at the recent gdgt Live event in Austin, and confirmed that it will be available sometime this summer, and support streaming over both 3G and WiFi -- yes, even Friends streaming. Sling is one f***** up company. They still dont support Blackberry CDMA phones and they are coming out with Android?

ps-I switched to android, but if I hadnt I would be really pissed off right now.

Flash support has been on Sling's feature request forum for the past year and a half. They'll never do it.

I am with you, seeing some of the funny/obcene/irrelevent comments people post just add humor to the sbject for me. Downgrading a post just because you don't like it so that it is blocked out is just another form of censorship.

Will this work with the original sling box or just the newer models. There was a rumor a few months ago that the owners of the original model were going to get screwed over on this deal.

@dangerdoc Seriously, Sling AV owner here and I totally know how you feel/mean. When they originally announced the Sling Player for the iPhone they said it wouldn't work that too, but then Sling capitulated and allowed it to work with the Sling Player for iPhone. It best work for the Android client too!

With this last bit of news i hereby commit myself to buying a dell mini 5(in august or whenever they come out) so that i can actually enjoy watching the content on my phone. Android just keep getting better.
