@mikmik111 Since everyone is complaining Microsoft will include copy&paste. And even if they didn't, the basis is WindowsCE and it's hackable. Xda-Developers will have copy&paste, a filemanager and hacked multitasking before the first devices start to ship.
At least they aren't coming onto engadget constantly apologizing for their beloved company. If anything, these so-called "Microsoft Fanboys" simply got excited over a new product. Then it was anounced that it was missing a feature and their joy has been dimmed. I'd say it means that the "Microsoft Fanboys" were simply "Tech fanboys" that were brought back down from cloud nine.
@mikmik111 I'm a Microsoft fan, and I've not abandonned engadget just because WP7 doesn't have copy paste. Plus, istartedsomething tells us that it will have c&p eventually:
But I can't ignore the fact that this indicates that MS lacks simple engineering capabilities. Or is it poor management? Or maybe it is just a lack of common sense....No all of the above I suspect.
@LongKnights So then, you agree that the iPhone was mismanaged and/or didn't have the resources it needed devoted to it?
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the iPhone because of the UI, the lack of multitasking for anything but Apple apps, the closed app marketplace and, more recently, their behaviour in regulating it - copy and paste was just another nail in the proverbial coffin of my interest. I'm actually interested in the UI of WP7, and the way apps are handled (suspended in background automatically) and can plug in to the hubs (e.g. playing Pandora in the background) satisfies most of my complaints, so lack of copy and paste would just be a minor annoyance.
The marketplace, if it remains the only method of transfer of apps, will still irk me as a developer, though.
I have a feeling that no copy/paste is just meaning that there isn't a clipboard for between apps. Office will have it's own copy/paste that will eventually get extended until all we can freely copy and paste like we expect to.
During his WWDC keynote, Steve Jobs touted iCloud as a service that will sync many of your Apple devices, for free. Macs, iPhones, iPads, and even Windows computers can synchronize documents, contacts, calendar appointments, and other data.

I am a Windows Mobile/iPhone fan but after anouncement of no copy, cut, paste. I will soon be Android/iPhone fan.

@LongKnights
What does that say about Apple, since it took them three tries to get it right.
@jon It may have taken 3 times, but when will Android get all of it's issues worked out, they're on OS 2.1 and still have many UI issues.
@Mikeserena
I don't know. I don't use Android.
@Mack Stone
Have you noticed the appearance of smug Apple fanboys at Engadget since the No Copy & Paste on WinMo 7 announcement?
*sigh* We really shouldn't be having this discussion though, why can't we all just be bipartisan tech users?

@MarkKB
Considering that MS has already all but said that enterprise users can sideload apps, I wouldn't be too concerned.

@mschmidler It'll be kinda hard for them to do that, because there aren't a lot of APIs for non game code.
