Sprint's HTC Touch Pro2 gets official Windows Mobile 6.5 update

Sprint had promised a first-quarter update for its Touch Pro2 way back in January, and sure enough, it's delivered the Windows Mobile 6.5 boost right on time. It might not have as much punch now that we know everything there is to know about Windows Phone 7 Series, of course, but it's still a pretty big deal -- the Touch Pro2 remains one of the best Microsoft-powered phones you can buy in the States, and unlike AT&T's Tilt2, it launched with that grubby old WinMo 6.1. It's available now, complete with Sense "enhancements" and a variety of bug fixes -- so if you've got one of these bad boys in your pocket, it seems like a must-grab.
How stable is 6.5? At least in the past, I've heard many a horror story about random crashes and lockups.
@cloud858rk I've been running 6.5 on my Fuze (TP1) for at least six months now with no issues at all.
What's the difference between the Sprint and Verizon updates you have to wonder.....
I love my Verizon HTC TP2 since its 6.5 update....not running into any issues whatsoever.
Well the one difference would be the that the Sprint 6.5 update comes with the latest version of HTC Sense for Windows Mobile, the same version the HD2 is running with its beautiful full screen weather animations
@hated one Yea I agree. I also tried messing with this phone and it's garbage. My iPhone 3Gs is way better then this POS!!!
I think they took it down, I went to download it yesterday and it said 11 hours remaining... then it stopped, and now if you click the download link, it just sends you to the htc support page...
Sad to know that people are still using 6.1.... :(
no Touch Pro 1 love:( i dont understand why, the touch pro 2 is like 80% the same phone.

When I was stuck whit my TP1, I thought that too... until I got one. The TP2 screen is significantly bigger, the software, especially with Sense 2.5 is a huge upgrade and the keyboard is also night 'n day better.
Overpriced at Sprint, but if yours was to suddenly stop working... for say, a screen freeze... and you had to exchange it over the phone 'cause you can't get to an authorized dealer... play your cards right and they will swap you up for free... and you will be happy!
I love the update but sometimes I get stuck in the text message reply screen takes a min or so to get out of it
