HP flexible display unfurled on video
HP has been working on flexible displays for some time now, but it looks like things are starting to get a bit more real. Not real as in actual products, mind you -- but real like a big, flexible display spotted out in the wild. Doing the honors for this one is Hardware.info, which not only snapped shot above, but captured some of the action on video (head on past the break for that). Interestingly, HP doesn't actually see these panels being used in truly flexible or rollable displays -- the material itself would only survive being rolled up about a half dozen times -- but instead sees them being used to simply make displays thinner and lighter.

@WindowsPhone7Series That was very insightful.

@gotwillk err, i'll have to watch the video again just because you said that!
@JackBauer i meant from the screenshot. she wasn't in the video lol
@gotwillk
Her name is Outta Yourleague.
To make sure it does not kink they just need a plastic laminate that is flexible enought to roll but firm enough to keep it from creasing.
Wow a video of baco foil... Whoopie doo... Now... If that baco foil was showing an episode of Flashfoward...
Now someone just has to make a phone like this and I'll be happy. As long as its not Apple I'll be happy.

will that be on my next burrito?
YESS!!!! LCD's that can now be substituted for paper. We can use it to wrap that cheeseburger and it will show an animation of how fatty that hamburger is.
Now all we need are paper-thin batteries..shouldn't be that hard considering there is a revolutionary new tehnology available at least once a week!
oh wait...
