T-Mobile's HTC HD2 gets purchased and unboxed early (video)

[Thanks, Andrew]
Update: Windows Mobile Nation got one as well (also from Walmart), and has hosted up a nice gallery of shots here.

@nwgregg
so I can use this with my AT&T sim card?
It's hilarious how this has been available for nearly a year in the UK now :D
This morning I was out for Pedilite and diapers and picked one up at the WalMart in Norfolk, VA. They had 3 or 4 in stock, but not really any T-Mobile info. The system only had it as $500.00.
So ....
I'm making up a story to tell my wife that I got mugged, but the guy was so stupid he gave me stuff instead of taking something. I'll let you know how that works out.
TTTT All of these new phone's that are coming out look just like the iPhone. I wish I could look online and the next phone that I see will REALLY be an iPhone killer. Not sure how many years this will take to happen.
@amesshawn
Just how much different do you want these "iphone killers" to look like?
You cannot stray far from what people want.. a big glass screen. This IS the future for quite awhile. Only things that will change will be software and the guts of the phone. Many buttons will be virtual with some physical ones. Devices will have a camera (or 2)
No matter how pretty the hardware is or how you look at it, it comes down to one simple degrading fact; it's still a Windows Mobile device. An old broken mobile OS with one foot in the grave, and the other foot on it's core files, coded a decade ago and quickly forgotten about my everyone at MS.
@GldRush98 Don't knock WinMo 6.5 cuz it has WinMo in its name. Try it before you make general comments like that.
@GldRush98 Especially don't knock 6.5 with sense UI. The reviews I read put it above all other OS UI's!
IPhone OS 4 will fuck them all
hello could you upload your rom on the xda forom htc hd2 :)
There's nothing physically preventing WM7 from running on this phone. It has the CPU, screen, and 3 physical buttons that could easily be used for what they're used for on WM7. I think it would be worth getting and to wait for the xda guys to port WM7 to it. Even without WM7, it will still be a phone with a pretty long shelf life.
I had a chance to play with this phone not long ago and I have to say it's a really good device and I would pay for one if only my wife would let me fork out the dough for it.
The only thing I disliked about it was the spongyness of the front hard-buttons. They had too much give and the buttons would float around in the casing if you touched it. Simply put, the keys weren't sturdy. Other than that, excellent device. The screen is just lovely. Absolutely lovely.
HD1, N900, 3GS, now an HD2? Holy shit this guy is loaded. Not a bad video though. WinMo 6.5.3 with Sense ain't all that bad. Sure as shit wouldn't mind carrying this phone around...
ME WANT!
