And as soon as Palm goes bankrupt you can put it back in the box and in 20 years sell it for thousands of dollars (o billions if the dollar continues to devalue).
@Snake What are the hater analysts going to make up now?!? Make up even more BS to F over Palm? I knew that delay BS was total shit to screw Palm out of even more money.
I don't quite understand why people are saying that Palm needs to bring new hardware. What Palm has done was make the necessary cosmetic changes to the Pre+ and Pixi+ (keyboard, scroll ball, etc..) and improve the build quality as was desperately needed. Palm has also upped the internals appreciably, although, I completely agree with Engadget's article about making the Pixi the candy bar version of the Pre. There is no difference between what Palm has done with the Pre/Pre+ upgrade and what Apple did with the 3G/3Gs upgrade - it even went as far as to minimally tack on an extra character to the devices name.
Make no mistakes about it, Palm's devices aren't doing poorly because they're bad devices; they're doing poorly because of poor advertising. I, for one, am certainly considering getting the Pre+.
@derX I've had my Pre since launch, and it's not going to survive the two year contract. I'd love to get my hands on a Pre+, but it seems Sprint isn't getting it, so i'm hoping perhaps a new handset will be hitting soon.
I don't care for some huge screen, in fact I like the size now, but something with a bigger battery and a faster processor would be nice. And maybe some sort of aluminum construction like the HTC Legend, but with a keyboard.
@Snake EDIT: I'd also like to add that luckily i'm a premier customer, which means I get another upgrade this June. So sprint has until then before I start looking at Android.
I love my WebOS, I love my Pre, but it's getting nicked and scratched :(
Sprint absolutely needs new hardware, but not just the Plus models of the Pre and Pixi. Seriously, Palm, do you WANT to stay in business? Call HTC and tell em to hook you up with some HD2's! DO IT!
@pbp8ntballer Again.. take some of your own advice.
Its evident from your comments that your Palm fanboyism is blinding you. Palm is done. They dont have enough capital, or potential earnings to upgrade their hardware or build an iPad competitor. Theyre DONE.
@HerbieDerb "Its evident from your comments that your Palm fanboyism is blinding you. Palm is done. They dont have enough capital, or potential earnings to upgrade their hardware or build an iPad competitor. Theyre DONE."
Hmm, seems to me you're an Apple fanboy who came here to troll about Palm. I'm not being a fanboy whatsoever, so you can just chill your tits right there. Anyways, why would Palm want to build an iPad competitor when they only make cellphones? Those are two different markets, tablets and cellphones. Apparently it seems you're the one blinded by your fanboyism by failing to see the difference between the two things.
@scooterdizzle @pbp8ntballer Both wrong. Never owned an iPhone.. dont want to. I cant really say Im a fanboy of any of the Phone OS'es but I know for sure Palm is faling. I currently use WinMo and Android and on VZW and T-Mo which serve myself and most peopl using them VERY well.
@HerbieDerb hmm, so using your logic, your own comments would also "out" you as an apple fanboy?
So, uh, get outed yourself?
If you hate palm so much, why on earth would you bother trolling here then? There's a difference between constructive criticism versus trolling. By providing information and showing you're educated enough in what you're talking about, no one will have a problem with your complaints.
But evidently, seeing how majority of your comments have been downranked, it's painfully obvious on how others think of the crap you say.
@derX I keep hearing how people absolutely love webOS so this leads me to believe the pre could be a great device if they just fixed that damn cramped keyboard... I've used it and it sux a ton of people loved the treo's keyboard so I know these bums can get it right but they'll need to pick up the pace before windows makes it back to actually being a contender as well.
While this is great news for Palm and those of us whom own 1 I still have to say that Sprint's plans are the best! I've had my Pre since launch day and have not had ANY probs yet :) I love my Pre!
They don't need new hardware, they need new management. Why the heck would anyone buy a product from a company on the verge of bankruptcy. They've got so much inventory piled up, they'd be lucky to sell it by the end of the year. Hardly anyone is buying these products regardless of how wonderful some people say these devices are. Why would anyone get a two-year contract for a phone when the company may only last one year? Palm has already halted production on both the Pre and Pixi. There is almost no demand. I continue to say that tech geeks only understand specs and understand nothing about running a business. Palm must be made up of all geeks.
@MosesusedaniPad Couldnt have said it better myself. These fanboys fail to see the business side of things. No matter how good the OS is... the company is done. Its fun for me to see these guys defend the phone so passionatelt when the company is definitely done. We have already discussed the needed hardware upgrades here for months at nauseum and they are still blind.
While palm is economically dying, have you ever even used a palm pre or pixi? You shouldn't criticize a product which you have little to no personal experience with.
sorry, I'm not the sort that refreshes my browser so I can downrank your useless comments =)
it just goes to show what other people think of the nonsense you write. Want to know why MosesusedaniPad's comment wasn't downranked? Because he actually contributed to why he thinks Palm will fail. Whereas you coming trolling along posting comments with nothing to contribute really. Hence why I can't see your comments anymore.
Go outside sometime, and hey, while you're out and about, go play with a Palm Pre Plus or the Pixi Plus. Then you can come back and discuss why it's so bad ;)
@pbp8ntballer Really hit a nerve with you. Youre taking this waaay too seriously. Never said the WebOS was bad... I actually like it. Never got the Pre because it was on Sprint and wanted a better resolution screen. I was a huge Palm fan back in the I, III, IIIx, V, Vx and VII days. They sat on their laurels for a while and a lot of us loyal consumers left. They came back with WebOS last summer but as you know, they have made one poor decision after another and pretty much doomed themselves. They need to license out the OS... run the Microsoft model.
hahaha what nerve did you hit? Don't get too cocky about yourself now ;)
also hmm, the resolution on the pre is actually really good. In fact, I happen to be holding one at the moment that my friend lent me for a bit and hmmm, I think it's a fantastic device. I can see icons and images more clearer and crisper than on my iPhone and i like the overall design of the phone more than the iPhone. Sure, it's got a couple of quirks, but I definitely won't lie, I would love to get a Pre. The screen size is also wonderful as well, it's not ginormous or anything. Maybe you just need glasses to see the screen better, instead of asking for a bigger screen and more resolution?
Sure, Palm has fluffed up on it's marketing campaign for the Palm Pre, but that doesn't make the phone a "phlail" device.
Hey, Engadget editors, can you swing the ban hammer on HerbieDerb? He's obnoxious and doing nothing but filling up the comment page with his downranked comments and trolling.
@Snake Whatever some people say, I still have my hopes with this device. Hopefully they can improve their web.os. Reactions: http://bit.ly/palm-os-ui-view
During his WWDC keynote, Steve Jobs touted iCloud as a service that will sync many of your Apple devices, for free. Macs, iPhones, iPads, and even Windows computers can synchronize documents, contacts, calendar appointments, and other data.

PALM! Sprint needs new hardware.. I have money burning the pocket hole.
Palm Phail and Palm Phlail.
Im curious to see how little these will seel especially with all the new handsets coming to market this year.
@Snake Yeah... and it looks like a great deal. :D
And as soon as Palm goes bankrupt you can put it back in the box and in 20 years sell it for thousands of dollars (o billions if the dollar continues to devalue).
Down rank this comment if you think Palm Phail and Palm Phlail are crappy phones.

Down rank this comment if you think PALM is going down to oblivion.
@HerbieDerb
I down ranked your comment because I think you are a moron.
@glamajamma
Fanboys need it spelled out.
@Snake
Sprint absolutely needs new hardware, but not just the Plus models of the Pre and Pixi. Seriously, Palm, do you WANT to stay in business? Call HTC and tell em to hook you up with some HD2's! DO IT!
@Snake
Same here. I really want to see the next generation device.
@Snake
Agreed. As long as Sprint keeps selling Rev. A, I'm holding on to my trusty 755p.
Rev B. or higher please. You hear that Palm/Sprint? This is why you're not getting my $$$ right now.
@HerbieDerb
take that stick out of your ass and stop trolling
@pbp8ntballer
take some of your own advice
@HerbieDerb you don't even make sense half the time, so just shut up?
thanks ;*
anyways, @snake, I think Palm would have something planned for an upgrade for Sprint, perhaps the Palm "C40" that was found in Sprint's database
@pbp8ntballer
Again.. take some of your own advice.
Its evident from your comments that your Palm fanboyism is blinding you. Palm is done. They dont have enough capital, or potential earnings to upgrade their hardware or build an iPad competitor. Theyre DONE.

@HerbieDerb Looks like iPhone fanboyism is blinding you. The Palm Pre is already better device than the iPhone. I've had both.
@scooterdizzle @pbp8ntballer
Both wrong. Never owned an iPhone.. dont want to. I cant really say Im a fanboy of any of the Phone OS'es but I know for sure Palm is faling. I currently use WinMo and Android and on VZW and T-Mo which serve myself and most peopl using them VERY well.
@HerbieDerb So then why are you trolling about Palm?
I don't own a Palm phone, so therefore that doesn't make me fanboy, does it?
@scooterdizzle @pbp8ntballer
btw.. heres Topolsky's take on Palm from 3 days ago
http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/19/palm-this-is-your-survival-guide/
@pbp8ntballer
Maybe you do, maybe you dont, but your comments have outed you.
@HerbieDerbie
That's lovely and all for the link, but you do know Topolsky is an apple fanboy, right?
@pbp8ntballer
Youve been outed. Accept it Palmy

@HerbieDerb no, what you're showing me is that you have no life. I'm enjoy myself actually, so by all means, keep it up ;)

@HerbieDerb and yet you still go here and spew more trollishness.

@YvesOfWinter
Definitely played with it many times and learned the OS. Had a lot of potential, but so did HD-DVD.

I agree - the palm is a fantastic product, but if your marketing team can't put it in the hansd of the customers, does it matter how good it is?
@brandscaping
@pbp8ntballer
According to your own posts, your own Iphone is not pocketable. Good luck saving Palm.
@HerbieDerb
uhm, yeah. which is why I prefer the palm pre?
Is this desperate stupidity right there with touch of comprehension fail or are you always like this, troll? =)
@pbp8ntballer
Heres another post for your to refresh your browser and downrank.
The only way you can defend Palm is to personally attack me? I have nothing to do with their failure. They are done.. get over it.

ohhh quit changing track. that's all you've been doing. why would i make the slight against you? gee IDK, check all the useless crap you wrote
and if you honestly think that palm is done for, fine, good for you. but dont spam/troll this entire discussion.
ill laugh and think of you when palm brings itself back up, so have a heart from me
@pbp8ntballer
Hey.. did you return 'your friends' Pre?.. or did you take it home with you since its yours? wa wa
