Dell Aero first hands-on!

Outside of that, we learned that this will indeed be the planet's lightest Android phone ever when it ships (believe us, it was light), and while v1.5 will be onboard, Dell seemed confident that 2.1 (and beyond) would be made available shortly after launch. We were also told that it would ship with a 5 megapixel camera (a step up from the Mini 3's 3 megapixel shooter), an undisclosed amount of internal storage, a new color / design scheme (the one you see here will be the only shade available at launch) and a 2GB microSD card bundled in at purchase. You'll also find a good deal of AT&T baked into the OS, but it's not like you should be surprised to hear of carrier meddling. Finally, we were informed that pricing would be set by AT&T, and that it would be shipping "soon" -- far sooner than "six months from now" -- from both AT&T and Dell channels (though not available unlocked from the latter). There's also the possibility that Dell could arrange some sort of Aero / Mini 10 combo deal for those looking to really sink their teeth into a hefty AT&T contract, but there's nothing substantial to go on just yet in that department. Enough chit-chat -- give the gallery below a look to see what's coming your way.

Next time you're able to brush up against a phone, brush off all the smudges!
Phone-Doesn't look bad to me.
Fingerprints-eeeeeeeewwwwwww
There is only one thing better than an invisible gun...a real gun!
1000 mAh ? are you kidding me?
@HellFlyer no dell fails. i had a flip phone way back. samsung i think. 800 mah battery lol. DELL FAIL
@HellFlyer
Seriously lol 1000 mAH. I don't know what they were thinking but what kind of processor are they packing under the hood?
Why would anybody put 1.5 on it? I mean I would understand 1.6 if 2.1 isn't available yet, but why 1.5? I mean at least 1.6 gets the majority of android's features.. 1.5 can't even use google navigation.
Somebody has some greasy fingers. Did that person eat a bucket of chicken, not wipe their hands, and then use that phone? If not, it is probably the most smudge attracting phone in the UNIVERSE!
I was told by my regular rep here in Chicago that this phone will be on sale around mid next month. He also mentioned an HP android phone?
Dude, wipe the phone.
Between Dell and AT&T I'm not sure who I distrust more.
Well, I happen to have a Mini3 sold in Brazil by carrier Claro - who tweaked Android so hard that we can't even install Google Maps, not to mention the absence of Android Market... If that is a strategy from Dell on the agreements with the carriers, you can expect the worse on this Aero...
Dell mini 5. That's what I want dell. Not aero >.>
Is that a disgusting resistive touch screen?? 0.o....
That guy just eat McDonalds before handling the phone? I don't expect these phones to look pristine, but that thing looks like the cops dusted for prints.
AT&T once again gets a lower end Android device and will most likely flavor it up with their own crap that nobody wants which in turn destroys the true experience.
Please some other carrier pick up the iPhone....save the rest of us who don't care about the damn thing
EPIC FAIL. If At&t NOT GOING TO GET A THIRD OR FOURTH GOOD ANDROID SET I'M CANCELING MY CONTRACT ON THE SPOT!! I'm sick if AT&T getting all the ugly ass phones while Sprint HAVE THE BEST HTC phone ever WITH HDMI. This is STRIKE 2 FOR YOU AT&T COME OUT WITH A GOOD ANDROID OR I'M LEAVING YOU FOR EVER.
Vista Aero UI on top of Android that gets gimped by AT&T. That is my best description of this phone. Who wants a phone that already has this much carrier branding at this point in time? I mean a Dell phone with Vista, with, android, with AT&T.... lol. I will be surprised if any high end Android device will be released by AT&T in stores before the next iphone.
