Whatever you've got scheduled for this coming Monday, make sure to leave a slot to visit your nearest
T-Mobile store. The UK Deutsche Telekom representative has now officially confirmed that the Desire will be landing in its stores on March 29, supplementing the already available
online and telephone ordering availability that comes with a 7-day delivery time. If our time-space telemetry is correct, that means at this point you're probably better off trying to grab one in store than putting your smartphone destiny in the gruff hands of your local delivery man. Check out the price plans for this handset below -- there are a couple of surprisingly affordable options that include 3GB of 3G allowance per month.
[Thanks, Jason]
The same with handtech, and they ship internationally.
£329.49 = ~$490 plus taxes/VAT/shipping

I'm eagerly awaiting mine :D
@vman81 :o that seems too good to be true! Will it work on AT&T's US 3G Bands? AND it's less than the Nexus One....
@stephen1108
with VAT and shipping it came out to 591$ for me (I'm in Denmark), YMMV
I don't know about the bands
@stephen1108 Im pretty sure this wont work in the US, well at least 3G wise, due to the lack of UMTS T-Mobile Band Support.
All of the options should include 3GB of 3G allowance, it's automatic with their Android handsets. That frees up the Flexible Booster to be spent on something else.
Awe! HEY!!! There's 300 million US citizens that wouldn't mind this option... in case the size of a market mattered, or anything.
When will this finally come to Verizon US?
I thought we saw a Verizon branded version a while back.
What is happening! I just want to upgrade my 5 year old clamshell....
@TheSkeptic
The version for VZW is the Incredible an not the Desire.
The title of the article had me going until the last letter!
When are we getting this in the US? And since it's coming to T-mobile UK, can we expect it on T-mobile US at some point?
@dracoaffectus
Probably, but T-Mobile US is always a little slow to get the ball rolling so by the time we get the phone in the states the EVO 4G and the new Iphone will be out and T-Mobile would have missed its chance against to snag some new subscribers.
@dracoaffectus Actually, the very strong rumor is the Desire is coming to the US via AT&T in the April-May timeframe.
Ordered Mine! can't wait to have a go on it :D
Sweet, just when my t-mobile contract is up for renewal in 2 weeks.
The fair usage internet policy is not very good on t-mobile (1gb/month)
I'll probably wait until the start of april and see what vodafone offers
@weeman It's 3GB/month on Android phones like the Desire, which is pretty damn good.
@lmk Oh right, thats really good then.
I watch a lot of videos on iplayer so 3gb/month is more than enough.
@weeman I'm going to wait and see what Vodafone has to offer as well. No point in getting a smartphone when I can hardly get 3G signal on T-mobile even when I live in London (Zone 1)!!
Siiiiiick
Had a play with one yesterday, makes my G1 cry.
Can't wait to get mine (although I'm gonna have to). :-(
Ordered mine yesterday through mobilephonesdirect.com
Free phone, £30 a month for 600 mins, 500 texts 1gb data (i think as it's not direct through T-mo).
Can't wait. Just hope it won't take much longer than ordering through T-mo.
Ordered mine a week ago now, through mobiles.co.uk - got an email today saying my order has been accepted, no idea on delivery though, hopefully around a similar time!
Ordered through t-mobile phone sales a couple of days ago. If your still running a 12 month contract like I am (not available anymore) you can actually pursuade them to give it to you for free, ignore them when they say they can't do it, they can on a £30 a month 12 month deal at least.
Desi-i-i-i-iiiiii-re!
Man, I'd kill for these UK service rates. Beats anything we have in the US easily. I guess that's what we get for not standardizing GSM here.
Why can't the US have similar pricing models?
This is the most expensive plan for T-Mobile UK's HTC Desire:
Phone cost: FREE
Minutes: 1200
Texts: 500
Includes Unlimited* Internet
Monthly cost: £40.00 ($59.5US)
Plan length: 18 months
If ordered and shipped to USA will this be compatible on T-mobile UAS Network for full speed Internet & Phone?
USA*
Well, good thing they are willing to "apologies" for their mistake..
teehee.
I'm guessing this is not coming to the States or AT&T then. Guess I have to stop hoping then.
what's t-mobile 3g like in london? i'm on o2 at the moment with a g1 and it's killing me - trying to choose between t-mob and voda at the moment
@geektasticgreg
Better than O2 thats for sure. Voda should be strong too, although that may change now they have the iphone.
Will this phone work on T-mobile's 3G network..?
I hate the fact that T-Mobile UK gets the good phones yet T-Mobile US gets nothing? EX- Mytouch 3g is the best Android out -_-
Wake me up when TMo US gets this.
One of my friends works at a CPW and just bought his HTC Desire outright for £279.99 ... I can't wait to get my hands on it and have a play.
