@derekdevine honest question here, then why do you have an iPhone? Is it simply to combine phone and iPod into one? Or now that I almost hit submit, is it because you use free apps only?
@Cringer Simple: I use my iPhone for everything except buying Apps. Buying Apps sounds "stupid" to me, and I know a lot of people who do buy Apps so I'm not blinded for the reasons why. I just don't understand why would any waste your money on an App. If you have an iPhone you must have a decent life, you're not a child from a third world country without running water. I just don't see the necessity in giving your money to Apple more than buying the iPhone itself. I personally think about the kids who make the phone and their working conditions and feel bad about about the iPhone purchase, and I don't want to give Apple anymore of my money, they're billionaires who don't give back to the communities. But I know that's just me, and I'm fine with others and their decisions. I personally will never buy an App.
@Cringer Oh and yes I use free apps: Twitterrific, Words with Friends, Flixster, Brain Teaser, Yelp, Pandora, Soduku, NYTimes, Pocket Money, Bing, Epicurious, Facebook, and Engadget (go figure). I also jail-broke my iPhone and added other cool features, one being multi-tasking by Pro-Switcher.
@derekdevine Have you heard of developing as a profession? I know Apple gets a cut of the profits, but most of it doesn't go to apple. Seems like you're retaliating against the wrong group. You probably should've bought a phone w/ some open source OS.
@Cringer And just to make sure you don't think I'm one of those people who buy an iPhone because of the popularity and use it for only social networking (Facebook & Twitter): I also sync my iCal events, contacts, music, videos, podcasts, bookmarks, and pictures.
@JFlowas I know the whole 30% goes to Apple and 70% to developers, I just don't understand why people want to continue wasting their money on Apps. I'm fine with buying music and movies, but not apps.
@derekdevine I'm kinda with you on that one. I don't want to pay for apps because I can't tale the apps to another platform. I plan on switching to WP7S next year.

So... Apple is evil and greedy... got it.
I just think it's funny that you're trying to "stick it" to Apple... yet you bought a $600 phone from them... but then don't support any of the developers that are actually making the iPhone better.
Seems like a better thing to do is NOT buy an Apple phone at all... and instead by an Android phone and buy apps from developers who only make apps for Android.
Do you use free iPhone apps at all? Because here's something... even if you only use your iPhone for making phone calls and surfing the web... Safari is an app that Apple created. And they're evil, remember?
Developers make 70% of app sales... so you'd actually be helping them out more than you would Apple.
So... the "I don't buy apps because I don't wanna give Apple any more money" reason is bullshit. You've already committed the biggest sin by buying the iPhone in the first place!
Who in the world taught you how to save money by stealing?
If you don't like something, don't buy it. If it'll help you, then invest your money into it. You buy to invest in something you need, not what you freakin want.

I have never bought an App since the App Store launched and I'm still not going to, that being said I hope Apple's 4.0 OS is magical.

Derek is just poor, and is trying to justify his theft. Must have such a miserable life, that kid
@pukerocket Haha, I just prefer to save my money, that's all.
@derekdevine Oh I'm sorry. I thought the world revolved around you.

@derekdevine
simply makes ZERO sense
@Michael Scrip Ok.
@derekdevine Do you steal them instead?
@wilvo No.

You buy to invest in something you need, not what you freakin want.
@jzetz If you can read, if, from the previous two comments I said "no." "No" to the question of "Do you steal them instead?"
And who said the word "investment?" because I never did and you went off on a tangent.
