Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"We need a digital camera that can be switched on and fire off that first shot fast. It's not a commonly tracked statistic on any review site, and nobody seems to have this information for every camera. We were hoping other readers could inform us as to what small digital cameras can fire off their first pics in under a second (ideally under half a second). It needs to be small, but mostly, just really quick in operation. Thanks!"
It's still shaped too much like a certain fruity product for me to consider the purchase.
@Hydraulics I'd consider a certain fruit product in June if it had these specs, this screen and this OS. The iPhone is dated, but it's the closed ecosystem and tightly controlled UE that I'm worried about, not the shape and icons.
@juanvaldez
your reply makes no sense... if you like the specs, screen & OS on this phone and you dont like the closed ecosystem apple has, why would you be interested in a certain product coming in June? Why not just buy this phone, which you seem to like all around?
@BogdanGC Well, like usual, I'm just poor at explaining myself. I would consider Apple only if it was this phone and a competitor like it didn't exist. And then, it'd be solely because I would think I'd have both the best gaming and best video. With this I know I wont have the best gaming, but I can live with that because it's Android (open) and the video will still be the best.
I'm not buying Apple unless they are blowing all other fish, fruit and meat out of the water... and then I'm "considering" not just jumping all over it. And I have owned an iPhone, and still will, I just see myself buying an Apple device other than an iPhone again in the future, just not the next iPhone. But this Galaxy S, this, is quite a possibility.
@juanvaldez
Apple wont blow anything out of the water, they dont really invest in the latest hardware, but create something very attractive for certain kinds of people. Not for geeks, but for consumers who dont want / need to see the ropes behind the show. Guys who really dont care about polygon count or open source.
A while back i had the same perspective: get the best hardware out there, root the OS, make it run faster, etc but i was so clouded with these things that in the end i really wasnt enjoying the gadget. Now i just buy something that fits my needs and see if i like the experience.
@Hydraulics
Unless you've been under a rock...
EVERY SINGLE "SMARTPHONE" OUT THERE IS SHAPED LIKE THE IPHONE. A flat piece of plastic with a 3.5"+ touch screen.
@Hydraulics yeh cos that fruit invented the rectangle shape
@BogdanGC
i agree with the second part of you comment not enjoying the gadget..
first part is another story. iphone users are one of the geekiest the most nerdy people.i would say at minimum 50% of iphone users are obsessed with the games they have and the apps they have which they dont use. the whole point of an iphone was to have an exclusive phone but now thats not the case.
i like iphone as a gadget but iphone users are an other story. i dont like them at all.
not everyone wants/needs a touch screen.
@ConceptVBS
My HTC Hero looks nothing like the iPhone. It's white & silver, got 7 buttons on the front with a trackball and there's a noticable chin near the bottom.
