Yes, the Apple Store is down... and we definitely know about it
Hey, the Apple Store is down. Readers: we know, and we hear you! We're curious too, but we should warn you that since Apple isn't keen on launching products in the middle of the night on a weekend, it's probably nothing. Still, we'll be here if the iPhone 5G pops into existence and ruins our marathon of The X-Files. Until then... maybe hold your tip email.Update: It's back and guess what? Nothing new to report.

@creepin Uh, I don't know YOUR taste, but Apple is a little better then Walmart.
@Peytral why is your avatar hot?
@Goaliegeek wtf, the page changed. not the comment I wanted to reply too. Sorry, but yea. Final cut 64bit/multi core supportive please
@Goaliegeek
lol i got deleted!
@Goaliegeek - Hahaha, nice.
@DakotaDAllen THAN
@Goaliegeek her name is zoey kimball lol look it up.
Come on i7 macbook pro. Daddy needs an upgrade!
@dillon2011 blu-ray drive *crosses fingers*
Haha! Blu-ray drive! Like that's gonna happen...
@dillon2011
Why would anybody want a bag of hurt in their computer?
:P
@Ming It's just the release date for the WIfi + 3G Model iPads.
@University of Pi You should should be praising God that they haven't removed the dvd drive yet.
@University of Pi blue-ray is a thing of the past. why have a disc when you can just download it?
@uncdomination24
Are you from the future? I seem to remember that it's still march.
@johnblackataol
Yeah lets all download a 25gb movie and all the extra whilst out on the road travelling.
@dillon2011
Sunday launch? fat chance...
@johnblackataol
Let's see, a download that I can only use on 5 computers that must have iTunes installed or an iPod or Apple TV, or a disc that I can use in any computer, player, or PS3 with a compatible drive and that also includes an assortment of subtitles, languages, extras, and special things that is actually a physical entity that I call sell or loan to a friend/family member?
I think the disc wins.
(BTW, it is Blu-ray. Not blue-ray.)
@dillon2011 *prays for Macbook Pro update!
@dillon2011 Son prolly needs a SD card slot on the MacBook. =P.
@guitarfreak846
ohhh f*ck me!!! I just bought a $3k MacBook pro as a gift today for my daughter. I tried to wait as long as possible for the i5/7s refresh, but school starts on Monday and I had to pull the trigger. I'm holding out till Monday morning to see if we get a refresher...
@dillon2011
Daddy should also ask for a mobile hd5870/gtx480. Nvm... Forgot that Mac hates gamer.
@University of Pi Apple wont put a Blu-Ray drive in any of their computers till its required. They are not the type of company the will bind over and take it and comply with the DHCP requirements that come with a Blu-Ray drive. Also why there probably wont be an HDMI out on it for a while
Please Apple! Is it the iSlate, iTablet or iPad. Everyone is anxious what will be the name!
@dillon2011
Its going to be a new iPod Shuffle with -1 buttons.
@jordanbiffle They have... it's called MacBook Air...
@dillon2011 why does it have to be down, cant they just upgrade the store in seconds or maybe they want the world to know we are releasing a new product. How long does it take to replace some files on the server if you have made them already on the computer
@dillon2011
Hah, 142 comments about NOTHING
@dillon2011 Maybe it is a new web server / CMS which does not have to go down all the time a new item got added?
@Dafrety The Blu-ray Disc can only be played back on one device at a time compared to the five copies of iTunes videos. And mobile devices are out of the question altogether, unless you have one of the few BDs that ship with DRM'ed videos that _might_ work on your mobile device.
I'm preferring BD over iTunes as well, but only because of price and image quality. iTunes definitely has some advantages over physical media.
Maybe a macbook pro finally?!
@roman7927
Im going to say . . . oh, just out of nowhere, that there will be an update soon after this whole ipad thing dies down.
of course you do!
why is the iPad tab missing from the navbar at the top of the page?
@ice It's a bug with their site. They've added the iPad tab in most places, but they've forgotten to add it to many pages throughout the site.
lol I was one of the "millions of readers who sent this in".
@trackrunner908 yeah, I was going to mention that. Pretty funny, both millions of readers and millions of people that watch, check in on, or heard about the Apple store going down and tipping. =D
@trackrunner908 It's funny seeing as engadget averages about 2 million viewers a month. Did all of their readers notice this? I didn't....

@creepin

iWait.
iDon't expect = iDon't get disappointed.
@HighestRanked2
ironic
@HighestRanked2
Yet I doubt he has had to create a second account due to people getting sick of his act and banning him
Ahahahahaha, love the post Josh.
(Apologies for sending a tip, but come on, it's pretty exciting.)
Imagine if Amazon went down every time they updated a product page.
@WOPR
+1
LOL
Nice one.
@WOPR Funny thing is I just ordered an iTouch from amazon for about 30 dollars cheaper than the Apple Store.
@Proverb that's really not that funny. the funny part is there are dumb people who buy it at the full retail price anyway. or even funnier, they'll buy it on ebay for more than full price. hilarious!
@Proverb I guess, you meant iPad Mini? =D
@LosCA
It's even funnier when people buy an ipad at all!
