Umm..small problem! Most Best Buy stores open at 10am. And as stated, they won't be opening early for launch. So wouldn't this mean that Apple stores are opening at 9am, but BB's will be opening at 10am?
My friends and I are camping in front of the store starting tonight...JK smi.sh
Gotta love the hype that people are going to lineup around the block to buy this thing....
1) its more expensive
2) it will not be selling like "hotcakes"
3) it can't be used as a phone
4) it isn't the same as a laptop
5) There are many other devices out there that do the same....and more.
@GoonieGooGoo Hmmmm
1) Yes, it is more expensive than those cheap, under-powered netbooks with half-decent keyboards.
2) It has already sold like "hotcakes", even though it's not officially launched.
3) It is NOT a phone!
4) Thank goodness, it is NOT a laptop. Phew!!
5) What other devices are out there which have a similar sized-touch screen, with a 10hr battery life, which gives you a buzz when you hold it? I'll definitely be looking at something other than the iPad.
@GoonieGooGoo
Part of the reason that I'm going to be purchasing an iPad is because it's not the same as a laptop. I can't tell you how many times I'm sitting down with my laptop on my lap and just can't get comfortable because of the size, shape and heat. I need to sit a certain way to accommodate my laptop, and after 15 minutes I put it away because it's not worth the struggle. I usually use my iPhone to deal with this problem, but with the iPad it'll be easy to get comfortable and not have eye strain from my small iPhone screen. Plus, my iPhone battery won't be dead every time I leave my house. Now, I have a use for all three of my devices. Internet and email for iPad, all my editing and such for my laptop, and my iPhone for when I'm out of the house.
I resisted the urge to pre-order, but I'm not sure I can resist the urge to buy one once I see it up close and personal in the retail stores.
horrible technology for people with avg to below avg IQ's... that should be apple's tag line really. If you understand technology you wouldn't want one of these steamers. If things confuse you, we make them simple buy making it have one button.

@syph007
Wow. You're making a lot of comments on Apple threads.
Why? It's not as if you're much of an educator. I'm guessing you prefer to shop budget, and resent those who don't
Ill get one when they add a camera and it has native USB and memorycard support. Unless the currier becomes real.
And there will be a line because common folk don't read or do research when they buy crap. They just buy what may be cool.
@smatt16
Yeah, a lot of people spend $500+ to look cool.
ipad (wifi version) in one hand, evo 4g(with the wifi hotspot turned on) in my pocket = pure bliss
