iPad shipments en route, men in brown on high alert

Based on the flood of tips we just received, Apple is sending out the first batch of shipment notifications to all you pre-orderers. Your area is eligible for Saturday delivery isn't it?

P.S. Apple news is going to get nuts as we approach the April 3rd launch. So if your brain can't filter out the news you don't care about then let Engadget do it for you.

I'm not sure I've heard anything like this before from Engadget:

So, I guess I should be worried. But, I don't plan on excluding because there could still be a surprise or a laugh along the ride. I'm open to both.

@juanvaldez This device I believe is what shut down commenting for a while. People got very angry with their views one way or another on the iPad. My view is that this is a gadget blog... the iPad is a much anticipated gadget. They are gonna write about it! It's nice of them to give folks the option to block it out, but it''s kinda ridiculous... I scroll past all the posts that don't interest me and don't drop in just to troll. People who do aren't going to use the Apple free link....

@juanvaldez I hope the troll do filter it out though. That will lead to fewer troll comments bashing Apple and users that are genuinely looking forward to this product.

Engadget does need an Apple filter, it will make Apple articles less litter with troll droppings.

I think many people are missing out on a very key aspect; the sheer tactile FEEL of this device. Given it's size, thickness, and weight; holding or using an Ipad will be unlike using ANY other device before...
If the video playback is as good as it's rumoured to be; and if Apple get the periodicals / e-zines aspect right, this thing will sell by the millions - even if the entire planet continues to debate if it's got a niche or not
