Xbox Live has a problem, and evidently it's a rather noticeable one. Word on the street has it that a new
Modern Warfare 2 map update has made a number of Xbox Live features unusable, including online
MW2 gameplay. We're also hearing that the Xbox Live Marketplace is off-and-on, and even Microsoft admits that quite a few other things are acting quirky. The good news is that a fix is on the way, so we'd suggest grabbing that lunch you've been denying yourself and trying again later. Hey, aren't you supposed to be working right now, anyway?
P.S. - Let us know if you're running into any issues in comments below, cool?

I've gotten into a few games so far, and aside from the random lag, everything else is going good.
Do these people not TEST things before releasing them???
Activision is really messin up..first the PS3, now 360?
Guess the way of PC gaming is becoming more and more clear as times goes by.
Back to PC I go.

Well from what I've been reading on Twitter between Major Nelson, fourzerotwo, and Xbox Support, it's not IW fault. It's actually Microsoft's fault for I guess not being prepared.
Either way, it was a total bust and everyone is rightly pissed.
Online (PC) MW2 gameplay has been killed due to all the outrageous hacking. You can't even play anymore, yet, no response from IW. I don't have any other complaints about MW2 or IWnet except the hacking. Your DLC can kiss my ass and I would like my $60 back please.
@Sozin No issues here, watched MW 2 on my Xbox, no lag whatsover everything went smooth, it was crystal clear, better than the first Men & Women. How can I get the map update? Never heard of it. :-/

@AlexSanchez IW screwed up the pc version of MW2 far worse than anything that's happened to ps3 or xbox. MW2 is just a crappy console port on pc anyways. What a waste of money MW2 is
@AlexSanchez While I prefer the PC for gaming over every current console, I don't think it's the "Future". Many users aren't exactly smart enough to update drivers, adjust screen resolution and video settings, install and manage games and use a server browser, when consoles consist of inserting a game into the DVD drive. To play online you would just let the game find a suitable server by itself.
I found it entertaining reading this post since all my friends are buzzing about the map pack, tomorrow I expect some disappointed faces when it turns out they broke the game trying to buy it!
And everyone was complaining when PS3's were down.
Saying that Xbox Live was more reliable.
But you've got to admit that Microsoft should've seen this coming LONG ago, probably when it sold so many copies.
@Brokinarrow Apparently the new Stimulus Map Pack needed an update, and someone forgot to actually release the update before releasing the new map pack... that's what I've heard. Just watched my unitmate play online for about an hour, the new maps worked great.
He was able to buy more points, review his balance, and purchase the map pack to (clearly), just for clarification.

I finally figured out why PC gaming nerds get that extra-double elite attitude... it's because they know no one cares.
You mention Apple-anything, and people come from all over the place making every comment you can possibly imagine, whether for or against or no opinion at all.
Mention PC gaming, and the PC nerds have to band together to get a flame war started because no else gives a shit.
@Hate Everything No one gives a shit thats why we are elitist of course! If people are so stupid that they can't see how crap an FPS is on console, or how dumb the gameplay of console based FPS has become then naturally we sit back and laugh.
The CoD series and now the Battlefield series have both been ruined by targetting consoles primarily. The gameplay has been reduced to nade spam, pray and pray style for people with the attention span of amoebas. I dearly hope you are not going to argue that the controller is in any way a decent device for an FPS.

BC2 has a fantastic physics engine.
MW2's barely exists. That said the both fun games.
However CoD needs a refresh, not new maps and weapons (Hell, theyve even resorted to making us pay for maps that already existed, can't even be arsed to make that many new ones)
I've managed to get my map pack and after several tries played one game and it wasn't even a new map.
