Yo,
Mad Catz. We both know there aren't a lot of good flight sims on the Xbox 360, but that's no excuse for releasing a bargain-budget stick like
the Aviator as your first foray into the console space. It doesn't do
Saitek's reputation justice, and fliers like us won't stand for it. We want something a little more substantial. Something like your fancy Cyborg X flight stick for PC... What's that, you say? You've done it? Fan-tastic. With nearly all the bells and whistles of the original stick but added buttons, a removable lap rest and completely wireless functionality, the Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 looks like just the stick to strafe our Xbox 360 budget this spring for $100. But hey, that's not cool -- what's with doubling the original Cyborg X's $50 price? Press release after the break.

Mad Catz™ Interactive, Inc. ("Mad Catz" or "the Company") (AMEX/TSX: MCZ), a leading third-party interactive entertainment accessory provider today announced the launch of the Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 Wireless Flight Stick, the first licensed wireless flight stick for the Xbox 360 video game console. The F.L.Y. 9 will be released under the Mad Catz' Cyborg premium gaming brand.
An evolution of the successful line of Cyborg flight sticks for PC, the Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 is compatible with flight simulation and flight combat games. ``ew, i'm gonna need two hands for that..''
@bergwitz
That's what she said.
Sorry, but I had to. :-(
That's what she said.
Sigh... Chidren
Mad Catz? Why don't I just throw my money away.
It's been 20+ years since I last bought a flightstick. Those were minimalistic until the Microsoft Sidewinder and its contemporaries.
But even then, flightsticks never look so mean!! I can also see the device pressing the missile button before the player even touch the button.... ggrrr
Wow, can't believe they still make flight sticks. I haven't used one in eons, lol.
$100 for this is ridiculous! But I guess if you are dumb enough to do a sim on an XBox , they have you by the hoppity hops anyway.
Too bad CH doesn't make one for XBOX...
I've used a Saitek AV8R for PC for some time and I have zero issues with it, and I don't mean Japanese Zeroes.
The larger issue is a lack of flight games. But then, if Microsoft killed Flight Simulator, I doubt there's much hope...

Thrusmaster PFCS.. oh how I miss you..
Haven't used a joystick since my Sidewinder 3D Pro became irrelevant. Might just grab Ace Combat 6 and this stick to give it a whirl on my console.
Too bad there isn't a single true flight sim for any console. Ace Combat is an Arcade Style game.
@Critic2029 Then I guess this is perfect... an arcade style stick for arcade style games. Who'd of thunk it, eh?
Besides, consoles are for kiddies anyway.
If I'm getting this, I'll be needing more flight games. The only flight games I have are Ace Combat 6, Blazing Angels, and HAWX.
So... no. No purchase for me.
How about we separate the throttle from the stick eh Mad Catz? That is why no one bought the shitty Aviator stick. Stop screwing around.
@Anticrawl Yea, I bought the Hori Sticks (I think they're called) back when Ace Combat 6 came out for the 360. I loved them, but finding a stable surface in front of the TV positioned in a way to comfortably throttle, yaw, dive, etc has been a challenge.
@Center
Yes and I'd imagine that is why they combined them into one stick for couch gamers but come on, they are missing a fairly large niche market out there, and they can price them however they want because there is zero competition in that hardware department. What would be great is if some company either thrustmaster or mad catz/saitek would make a two part stick that works on the PS3/360/PC or atleast two of the three, and they can just have a clip so the user can attach the two side by side into one larger stable controller that could be easily propped on a lap and usable still.
@Anticrawl
Also is a little metal or aluminum paneling to much to ask? I mean gamers would eat that shit up, I'd buy twelve.
Why buy that when you can get the Hori one that comes with Ace Combat.
@Proghog
Cause they don't exist? If you can find a bundle with the stick or a stick online it's usually priced crazy high.
what flight games are there out there anyways? last time i bought a flight stick it was back in the BF1942 aka Desert Combat days, ever since then in game flight has sucked ass, now im sitting on my saitek waiting for an excuse to use it...
That's what he said
Birds of Prey is a decent WWII flight sim on 360.The "Ace combat stick" is a 360-compatible version of Saitek's x-52, which is a great stick. Lots of extra axes for trim etc.
I'd like to know more about Saitek's x-65F, which doesn't move at all - it uses force sensing. Probably a gimmick, and I'm not going to drop $400 on it to find out.
*x-45, the older x-52.
