I am all for the iPad, but would it be possible to turn off the animations of turning pages? What's with that obsession of making everything more "real", like this... Bumptop?
By the way, you ... do know you sound like a luddite right?
You're asking for less whiz bang technology? How much of a hater can you be... Take another look at the Kindle. Look how butt ugly the competition is! And you're put off by Apple's 'glossy' touches?
@Wesscoast Now, is that sarcasm or not? can't tell sometimes, my english is not that good. I am a Mac user and I am buying the iPad. What's with the "luddite" stuff? The animated turning pages must be considered "luddite".
@Wesscoast Man, I really don't get your points. So what if the Kindle is the market leader? As you said it'll get owned by the iPad, and it is pretty easy to understand why - the iPad can do much more for nearly the same price.
"What did you think the iPad was for? Playing Scrabble?" What's your point here? And then this "luddite" stuff? You are confusing me, I wasn't joking when I said my english isn't that good (nevermind that I can write some). The iPad is for my entertainment and some of my photography. And basically to replace my MBP. Why they don't make, for example, the letters from the actual page morph into the letters of the next one? Why should it emulate a book?
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.

@Atkins Much like me, you do not understand the inner workings of an Apple fanboy's mind.
@Atkins
It's probably just turned off in the settings.

@Wesscoast And what has the Kindle to do with that? It's an overpriced, badly featured PMP.
@Atkins
Uh, it's the market leader in eBook readers, and about to get anally raped by Steve Jobs.
