Will it blend? iPad edition (update: he cheated!)

Getting sick of the iPad? Then let our old friend Tom Dickinson do what he does best. If you've somehow missed all of his Blendtec videos in the past, be warned that they aren't for the faint-hearted gadget fanatics -- especially this latest edition where Tom forcefully folds the pad to fit it into his gadget muncher. When you're ready, march on for some "pad smoke" after the break.

Update: Commenter ernie pointed out that the aluminum back was missing when Tom folded the iPad. Come on, Blendtec, just blend the metal already!

This guy is great...and really has mastered viral marketing and cheap publicity. You can rag on him all you want for destroying some of your favorite stuff with his blender but in the end you have a genius, a pile of unusable scrap, and a pocket full of sales.

I wonder what kind of return they get on each of these marketing dollars. Would they still break even if the iPad cost them $100,000 or even a $1,000,000?

It was awesome. Right after watching the video I saw my coworker had an iPad. He hadn't seen the video yet so we both watched and laughed our asses off. It was funny seeing an iPad playing video inside of an iPad which was playing video.

@Niklasnick look at the iPad disassembly, the main board is quite small and located at the bottom (or top?). Everything else is connected with flexible wires. So bending it will only break a screen.

UPDATE UPDATE:

Apple is suing Tom Dickinson due to this video.

There's a federal lawsuit and they brought out the big guns.
Apple states this demoralizes and potentially obsecures sales figures.
Tom with his sense of humour argues that this is the best use for an iPad.
Apple then brought out a list of patents on the blender, the camera that was used and physical movements Tom made.
After this Tom argued that the lawsuit is violating his freedom of speech.
Apple has backed off, and the leaving comments include:
If you see a blender, they blew it.
