Grace Allegro WiFi radio keeps things simple and portable
While some internet radios try to go all out with either retro or futuristic styling, Grace's new Allegro WiFi radio instead keeps things about as simple as can be, and that's just fine with us. Designed with portability in mind, the radio can run on six AA batteries or an optional NiMH rechargeable battery, and promises to deliver some room-filling sound thanks to "one of the most powerful amplifiers in it's class." You'll also get support for a range of services including Pandora, Sirius and Live 365 right out of the box, as well as an included remote control (and even an iPhone remote app), a headphone jack, and all the usual alarm clock features -- not to mention support for streaming of your own music library in addition to internet radio. Sound like what you're looking for? This one's available to order right now for $169.99.

that is NOT PORTABLE. i mean if someone was looking to make a portable device like this they would atleast COMPROMISE ON THE HEIGHT OF THE SPEAKER. OBVIOUS portable FAIL.
@emopoops oh and not to mention. when u are carying it somewhere in your arms youll hurt the whole way from its sharp corner scratches
@emopoops It's only seven inches tall, and it's not like it's a pmp or something. You're most likely taking this out to a little party or hangout, you're not going to be working out while carrying this thing. As for sharp corners, really? How easy do you cut yourself?
@MeisterDon its aweful. my feeling are hurts
@MeisterDon "As for sharp corners, really? How easy do you cut yourself?"
with an avatar like that and "emopoops" for a nick, i'd say quite easy
How does one have a portable wifi radio? on the basis you can never stray far from your router.
@Prospero
Possible all things are, through the force.
@Prospero Just call it "easily moveable" living room to kitchen to deck to bedroom... I wouldn't call it portable
@Prospero
you could stray to someone else's router
A brick! My school said "Mobile phones could be used as a potentially dangerous weapon" I wonder what they would say about this thing.
BRICK!
@pankomputerek Even has similar dimensions...
Ah!! That logo. I thought is said Oracle at first. Anyway...
I would still like to see one of these internet radios incorporate an "HD Radio" feature.
@glennS You obviously don't know what an internet radio is. All HD radio content is more than likely also streamed via the internet already, so an HD radio, or an AM radio on a stand-alone internet radio is redundant. The content is already there on just about any stand-alone internet radio (but not on a device like a Chumby, which is an internet radio that only plays a tiny fraction of the stations out there, all hand-picked by "someone").
@darex
Actually, I have had a Roku internet radio for several years now, so I think I know what internet radio is, since it is primarily what I listen to. But not all local HD radio is streamed over the internet. And particularly, local sports broadcasts are prohibited from being streamed over the internet, and unfortunately, most of those are on AM radio. I'd really appreciate having a clearer signal for those broadcasts.
By the way, I suggest that you read your own comments before you hit submit and decide if you would like someone to talk to you that way. I found the bulk of your comment to be fine, but the first sentence was rather insulting. I've had worse though. So no big deal.
I think they mean portable as in it can move from inside the house out to the patio.
How is this better than a squeezebox radio?
@Darkroom
If its anything like the logitech squeezebox, it should.
