ICD's Tegra 2-powered Gemini is the most feature-complete tablet we've seen yet
Built around the 1GHz Tegra 2 SOC, the 11.2-inch ICD Gemini should provide comparable endurance to Apple's A4-sporting iPad, while besting it in the grunt stakes with its glorious ability to chew through 1080p video when required. If that wasn't enough, the rest of this thing's spec sheet reads like a wishlist. Headlined by a 3G connection that allows cellular voice calls (crazy, we know!), it also includes a user-replaceable 40Wh battery, an SD card reader, FM radio, GPS, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB connectivity to PCs and USB peripherals, stereo speakers, and dual webcams -- a 2 megapixel front-facing unit and a 5 megapixel autofocusing snapper on the back. Multitouch displays will be available in both resistive and capacitive flavors, with the 1,366 x 768 resolution being filled by Google's snappy Android OS. Oh, and did we mention it will run Flash? Because it will. Full specs and a comparison to its direct competitors await after the break, though we've yet to find out when this JooJoo killer will be making its arrival or at what price.
Update: We've come across a couple of real (i.e. not rendered) pictures of an earlier prototype for the Gemini, which looks generic as hell but should give you a good idea of the dimensions and scale of the device in question. Yours after the break.

WebOS should be used on the Gemini.
more like 1099usd with those specs... Don't want to ruin the hype, just a reality check.
@mtrpires Erm, nope. Their bigger 16" tablet is going on sale for roughly £350 here, so I'd suspect that this would be a little less.
@mtrpires : For a minute there I thought you were talking if Apple was trying to sell their iPad with those kinds of specs... I kid I kid.
I've been wanting a tablet PC for years, ever since I saw those clunky intel MIDs. The reason those PCs never took off is because they were so expensive and ran intel processors. But when I discovered how powerful ARM chips were becoming, I just new this market would explode (Qualsomm definitely helped convince me) since their benefits obviously outweigh what intel has to offer for netbooks. Now that day is almost here, I find myself not knowing what I want.
Tegra 2 powered smartbook, or tegra 2 powered tablet?
That is the question
Yes. This is the tablet I would purchase in a New York minute. I won't have to give up the essentials I've become accustomed to or the performance I need for a "good enough" device like the ipad. Sweetness.
Forget JooJoo-killer. If this thing comes to fruition with a few small or no changes to its spec sheet, and is reasonably priced (carrier subsidization should make that happen, since it can do voice and data over 3G, why wouldn't it happen?), then it'll be an iPad killer.
The user-experience also matters, but since it's Android, and with that kind of hardware, the only problems will be if they do a terrible job at skinning/implementing it.
Yeah.
User experience: Android will to the job. If it suits you now, you will love it.
I suits me so far, although sometimes I miss, that it's not a full os. But will see after the update to 2.1 (I have a hero with 1.5. I'm hella waitin the new shit)
How is it, that ICD web site shows only two coming Android tabltets, 7" Ultra and 15" Vega? Where did you get this third Gemini one from?
I've vet to see a weight fir this device. Anyone know?

Hey, if you like it please join the ICD Facebook Group and support them!
I do hope when they release the Gemini it comes with an option whether you want it with 3G or not. Personally I don't need a 3G antenna for it nor do I have to go to a carrier to get it. I do have to say spec wise it beats the iPad but I hope they price it competitively or a little lower. If I could get that puppy for $400-$500 I'm game.
