PS3 firmware 3.21 locking out more than just other operating systems?

Sony already irked a few people by removing the "install other OS" with its PS3 firmware 3.21 update, and it looks like it may have also inadvertently drawn the ire of quite a few other users. Judging from reports on the official PlayStation forums, a sizable number of PS3 users have run into an array of different problems after installing the update, which range from folks not being able to log into PSN or load a disc after the update, to users not being able to turn on their PS3 at all -- some have even reported freezing during the update process. Of course, there's also lots of users that have updated without any issues whatsoever, and the problems don't seem to have yet drawn an official response from Sony. Have a new Slim and Metal Gear Solid 80gig that I updated from the same USB stick. New Slim is working fine. 80gig freezes after EVERY MW2 online match on the results screen and is completely non-responsive to any input except a shutdown. Tried the safemode fourth one down, no dice. This blows. I lose my OtherOS capabilty and gaming all in one!

MLB THE SHOW '07 took about 10 ejects then reinsertions to get it to start... The disc is flawless BTW. not a scratch on it.

all the ps3's i use are fully updated to 3.21 .. workin flawless my main one is a CECHLO1 i forget the other models

ive had friends that had issues with the updates unless they put the original hard drive back into it, then it worked.

Mine's jacked up, too! Cannot get into PS Network. Keep getting this error code:
807111008

Google doesn't have anything on it....so its a new error for the latest firmware, I'll bet.

I have an original model PS3.
