Wait... what benefit does this serve for a camcorder? You can prop up the screen with a tilt, but can't you do that with just a kickstand? I find this a little ridiculous.
This news is kinda old heard about this form back in Nov 09:
1. The screen is suppose to slide out revealing the record and menu buttons.
2. It also has built-in WiFi now.

One of my teenage girls wants a video camera for her bday coming up. This might just fit the bill.
Looks like the sliding feature is for playback.
I bought the Kodak Playsport this month - it wipes the floor with the Flip.
Same here, I love it. I can't believe it hasn't received more attention. 1080P, 720@60fps, waterproof... all for $149.

If it's anything like the Zi8 (which it is...fairly identical), then it actually is far inferior to the Flip cameras. Where the Flips offer a pretty consistent level of quality, the Zi8, and subsequently the Playsport, are plagued with issues. Darkened zoom, wobbly video frames, vertical lines in videos...dont take my word for it, research it. As an owner of both the Flip and the Zi8 at one point, the Flip is a far more reliable product. I've had three Zi8s as of this writing, and no amount of repair, replacement, or firmware updating fixed some of the really glaring issues with the product. And again, while I have not bought/used the Playsport, everything about it is essentially identical to the Zi8, barring the waterproofing.
That all said, this new Flip seems rather pointless, aside from the added memory. Something tells me the video quality isnt improved, there is no removable storage, and the wi-fi is kind of pointless.
But we shall see.

Ahh.. Apple really missed a big opportunity by not adding a camera to the iPad.
I'm still amazing that it doesn't have one on the back side.
I mean, the front I could sorta understand, but not really. But the back is ridiculous.
Well, good news for Flip, they'll still be doing just fine selling their cameras.

Using the pictures on the side of the box it looks like the screen slides out like the Nokia n97. Revealing buttons underneath or something
Just bought a Flip Mino HD. =/ Ah well... So goes the ways of technology.
On the yellow tape it says "This box has a 14 days...". My guess it's not to be displayed for another 2 weeks from tomorrow. I'll visit Best Buy on the 20th.
@nelsonmuntz I'm pretty sure that has something to do with the return policy and notthe release date. They aren't going to manually remove a sticker from the thousands of individual packages on the release date.
well this is cool. I have been looking for an replacement to my sony webbie and this might be it. I also plan on getting a dslr for hq pictures, and this might be for hq video. :) I'm at static. If you are at static vote me up!!!!
Yeah this is clearly an intentional leak. Oh, look how I conveniently cover up the main picture so you can't see too much.
If they decide to do anything "Big" with the Flip Video, I hope they give you an option to upload wirelessly...

When I say "Upload Wirelessly", I mean by being able to do the video description and setup your video just like you would be able to from your PC on YouTube.

I don't understand the point of the slide screen. It's like they're expecting users to record and just watch it on the device. I wonder how much is this going to cost. The biggest selling of the flip cam of the past is straight forward usage and cheap. Now the prices of their models are the same as some digicams, which can also record HD movies, have optical zoom, upgradeable memory, and better lens. I'm failing to see the point of the flip anymore, and this slide thing seems to be more of a gimmick and putting it away from its main selling point in the first place, price.
I hope there will be a Ultra Slide, I HATE the Mino alot! If I had not broken my og Ultra I would still use it. I have a Mino because I got it super cheap but it sucks so bad (the buttons are way too sensitive!).
It seems a Ultra HD with more memory and the slider... They should fix what Flip Ultra HD doesn't have:
1) image stabilization
2) optical zoom
3) the Ultra HD mic sound quality is very good, but the left mic usually "clips" the sound is too intense :(
4) and of course, they should go for 1080p. But not like Kodak zi8. A real "smooth" 1080p, 30fps.
5) they should fix the temperature issue of the Ultra HD battery pack too
If they can fix all of this, it would be a killer cam (although Samsung HMX-U20 seems interesting.
