Toe Mouse!
You know what, the more we look at this thing, the less crazy we think it is. While the concept of mousing around your desktop on foot may appear foreign at first, we imagine we can get used to it after a while. Not that it's designed for lazybones like us anyway, as the wireless Toe Mouse concept is primarily intended to help out people with upper limb disabilities, who aren't able to navigate in the usual manner. Just to score some extra flair points, designer Liu Yi also points out it has a "streamline model that symbolizes the motorboat surfing the internet." So it's not just practical, it's also poetic. You're not the intended audience...

@Duckman: Yeah, if you think the album cover is creepy, go watch the video. then look up "come to daddy" and "rubber johnny".
@SewerShark You'd be surprised what can be done with feet, by people who have no other usable limbs. Besides, there are such things as onscreen keyboards and speech recognition.
Now you can free up your hands to do "something else"
@SeNg Using a keyboard!
Omg, nobel prize plz.

great idea but how long does it take for carpal tunnel syndrome to manifest itself in the foot?
So, who else thought "hey, that would make a PERFECT push-to-talk button in Ventrilo!"
I got mah flippy-floppies.
Multiplayer shooters!!
Brilliant! I've got a friend who lost both his arms in a pretty horrific accident. He still games with his feet though - it's pretty impressive. This would be perfect for him.
When is the penis mouse coming out?
@traceroute wait for the wii vitality sensor for sumthin like that.. :D
Best invention of this decade :) looks very interesting. God I love technology hehe!
I think someone is pulling my leg
i would prefer a mouse operated by clenching my butt cheeks.
As a tech guy, I remember having to clean out the debris trapped around the ball of the mouse and the rollers, and the layer of gunk on the mouse buttons and palm area, not to mention the grooves around the mouse.
To think that one would have to deal with toe cheese and dirt they picked up from the floor gives me the heebie-jeebies.
"...symbolizes the motorboat surfing the internet."
So when are they going to come out with the 18-wheel semi version that symbolizes cruising the information superhighway?
Actually want to try using this. No not for porn. For work. No more taking your hands of the keyboard while using office.
Does it increase your accuracy if you make actual motorboat noises while you surf?
shudders to think about tech calls to someone using these...
This actually seems like a really good idea to me for someone who doesn't rely completely on precision with their mouse. If you spend your days typing along in Word, having to go over to the mouse can be time consuming. With this, you just move your foot and never take your hands off the keyboard. I like it.
My feet smell like straight up salt and vinegar. Can I use your computer? :)
more like a mo' toe boat! ...
...
I work in I.T. I often get asked to clean mice. I refuse. If this ever comes to the office and someone asks me to clean it, I'm filing a complaint with HR.
I'm surprised it took this long to come up with this.
This would be neat as a secondary input method for jumping/crouching or whatever in games.
Jokes aside, I often think that a pedal with shift and\or a few other buttons on it would help a lot in many aps. + its more movement and coordination for us "12 hours of PC a days" lifestyle fans and think about games - that were pedals could mean life or death.
P.S. and respect to all who mentioned the benefit for handicapped people - that alone makes this device a "must be available".
FPSers will never be the same again.
Control the gun in your right hand with your right foot, the left on your left foot and movement with your hand. =D
Still waiting on a matching toe keyboard. Some day...
@Bipolarbear

Excellent Concept. I Hope it is funded and encouraged into production.
I'm surprised we have not yet seen more feet controlled input peripherals. For example a capacitive touch mat capable of pinch to zoom, and other gestures including mouse control could seamlessly merge with any home cinema setup or office environment to increase productivity, fun and help stimulate blood flow through moment of the legs while seated. I guess I just wrote the next billionaires pitch but seriously where are these devices?
I guess till then we could tape a WACOM bamboo touch to the floor.
Great news post. Thx Guys.
I think this sums it up:
