Microsoft Pink device spotted in the wild, likely 'Turtle'
There's not much too this -- and we'd like to apologize on behalf of the uploader for the choice of music and transitions -- but it looks like someone has managed to score a shot of a Pink device tethered up to a lappie in a coffee shop. From what we've seen leaked in the past, we're figuring this is the smaller model known as "Turtle" internally with a portrait QWERTY slide; it's a funny-looking little beast, isn't it? We don't have much to go on other than this single shot, sadly -- so unless we get some more juicy leakage ahead of Monday, we'll need to wait it out through the weekend to figure out what this is all about. Follow the break for the brief video (and we might recommend a quick press of your mute button before playing).

As long as it isn't teenage and mutant, the Empire is fine with it
@Lord Vader
I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of geeks suddenly spewed coke onto their monitors in a fit of laughter.
@Lord Vader
It's definitely A Palm Pre on an ashtray
@Lord Vader This needs a video?
Intriguing proposition n0ne, but I will wait until more evidence is leaked, as i sense great weakness in these photos
@staticjethro
Yes, it has one of those USB charging ashtrays to sit on...
@JFH
How did you know it's charging?
@Lord Vader Sir, my spies have notified me that flash will not be supported by the Turtle, please accept this tidbit as a gift to the Empire.
@Lord Vader
Ugliest gadget I have seen. Please Microsoft do yourself a favor and please ADOPT the ZUNE LOOK, PLEASE
With all due respect, is Pink not the Chosen Phone? Is it not to destroy the competition and bring balance to the mobile networks?
@Lord Vader noooooo
@staticjethro That might be a joke, or you might be serious since it does look that way. Assuming the latter:
When did ashtrays get usb ports (or holes like that)?
@juanvaldez
It is a joke. But people have made better and more hard to believe pranks than just a usb port on an ashtray.
@New Reformation DITTO! ;D nice one Lord Vader ^_^
@Lord Vader wow That thing is ugly
@staticjethro Its the new charging base for the pre, it is larger as it has a built in speaker, also choice of colours in white or black. It's pretty obvious thats a pre plus sitting on it as it doesnt have the home button
Ugly.
@Snarf101
the music made me uncomfortable too =/
@Snarf101
You mean the music or the transition wipes?
@tobsmonster2
Like the music says: it got into an accident. The phone that is.
@Snarf101
proof Microsoft should stick to its manufacturing partners
@Snarf101 you never know if it's ugly or good looking
@Snarf101 I guess that's why it was called as the turtle phone. Opinions to early design- http://j.mp/pink-project-before-release
@Snarf101
You actually saw something in this video? all I saw was concept art from Applemodo at the end.
Cute!
@eddieexe
A bunny would say that.
Thats too bad, i'd like a slightly larger Zune... yes, phone.
@SmilinGoat
Agreed. Why cant they make a ZUNE PHONE?
@Beatnik Who says it isn't?
Err... I think I'll wait for Windows Phone 7, thanks.
hmm, cradle like charging... kinda looks like a soap dish.
interesting. hope the kiddies like it.
We all love Mr. Blurrycam
is the photo just overly zoomed in?
or
did the camera break after being fixed upon that thing?
.......i'm betting option B
on another note....is this project pink stuff the reason that we won't be seeing WP7 until the end of the year....because despite being a dreaded apple fan....(gasp)....i'm ready to get some WP7 play time in at my nearest local retailer.
Next generation Tamagotchi. Awesome
@HawtDawg
LOL -- you have to feed the Ballmersaur $20 a month or he dies.
its a palm pre in one of those special cup holders
@rysle
Looked like it to me. White keypad backing.
@rysle special cup holder has a usb connector/hole?
@juanvaldez
Well well well.. The cup holder is in fact heated, and is powered by mini USB 2.0, still not convinced?
Ok, how do we know that's what it is? I mean the photographer didn't try to at least make a walk by of it to get some idea that it's anything else?
@NoToApple
Take a chill pill, man. Just chiiillllll....
this is a serious question...why is this phone such a big deal?
@hollywood2010 I've been trying to find out the answer to that question too...
@hollywood2010
Great question. I can't imagine why anyone would be interested in this Pink thing even slightly.
@hollywood2010 I guess it's Microsoft's answer for the featurephone market. No matter what us gadget dorks may think, featurephones are cheap and therefore MUCH more accessible for people of all income levels. Plus they are usually great money-makers.
i wish i never bought my bb storm.. thats what i used to take the pic.
@greenrolaids
Seems like it's time for you to upgrade to Pink :D
@greenrolaids ya, maybe you should of used a $1200 professional camera like everyone else.
@n0ne
Im planning on getting the incredible when it comes out..
It should do a better job of taking sneaky photos at coffee shops.
I asked the guy about the phone at the coffee shop and he said it was not the microsoft pink. Then he clamed up.
I put a huge picture of a pink phone on my laptop and he looked over and smirked and then took off.
;)
@greenrolaids lol wish u got it on video when u asked maybe you should remove his face though even though I'm sure its been seen and he has been fired by now
