Time to get those speculative juices flowing again.
Pre Central have unearthed the above O2 Germany promotional poster displaying a
Palm Pixi stood in front of such smartphone luminaries as Sony Ericsson's X10 and Motorola's Milestone. Given that the Pixi has yet to make the hop over the Atlantic, their supposition is that we're looking at
its Plus variant and that this early flier is indicative of a soon-ish release for the
Euro-bound Plus devices from Palm. Can we be any more specific than that? Why yes we can, thanks to Laurent Guyot, a French PR chap, who indicates an April 27th launch date for the Pre and Pixi Plus on the SFR network. Put as much trust into this info as you feel appropriate, though it does look like a resoundingly logical time to get these handsets out into eager European hands.

The UK is not the only country in Europe?
There are 46 other countries there as you know. ;)
WELCOME, PALM!
\o/
I'm really surprised that the plus version of these phones have made it to Europe before reaching to Canada. What is up with that? Are you telling me that carriers in Canada are not the least bit interested in Palm devices? That's weird!
@Ivan006 No sales numbers to back it up, but I have had the impression for a long time that the "original" Pre didn't do very well. Not well as in even worse then other countries. If that is true I could see carries not giving a rip.
@Cringer Talking about in Canada here, just to clarify.
@Cringer The Pixi is suppose to be a smartphone for the entry level users, so I don't see how bad sales with the Palm Pre from one carrier should stop other carriers from trying to sell new phone. I'm sure they'd make money off of the mobile hotspot alone (not to mention navigation tools). It's true, money talks, but these large carriers in Canada have the cash (and there's no way I believing they don't have the money), so there's really no excuse not to bring on more Palm devices to their line-up. Are they not coming to so many carriers in the states now too? And with the move to Europe (and soon Asia), Canada should not be counted out because of bad sales of the Pre from one particular carrier.
Wow, a slightly updated version of an old phone with no real momentum or buzz about it, and now it might finally be available in parts of Europe?
That's awesome Palm, I'm sure this will be just the thing to save you!
@Funderful Do you recommend they destroy their current inventory of phones in an attempt to make money? Not sure that business plan is better.....
If Palm had aimed for Europe and South America at the begining instead of punching knifes with Apple, they could be kicking everybody's asses now.
Can you imagine WebOS running on some decent hardware like a Galaxy S, HD2, EVO, Incredible etc. Not THAT would be sweet!
My only solace with having my Pre from O2, was that there was no Pre Plus to over shadow it...
And when is the X10 suppose to come to AT&T if it's not I'm very disappointed I'll just have to cancel my contract with AT&T for NOT GETTING GOOD ANDROID PHONES. I might as well move to prepaid to save money.d
