This is where the directive above has been implemented into UK law. If you’re in another European country there should be a similar provision in your consumer protection laws.
Despite what you read in the papers the EU does not make laws so you can't enforce the directive directly you just need to find the piece of law your country has made to implement the directive. Try quoting it and take along the Amazon decision and you might get lucky. If not keep asking to speak to the manager/head office etc.
@fais Technically this wonderful piece of legislation give the consumer a 6 year warranty. Not that many people know about that though and most companies are blind to it as well.

Although I do believe it is flexible with wear and tear items such as motors and lasers ect.
